Does anyone know where I can get bases for miniatures? I don't want the flat ones with the slot cut out but the one's you can stick a cardboard cutout mini in, like the ones in the Pathfinder Bestiary Box: I've searched both Amazon and Ebay for 'miniature bases / base' but it just shows the flat type with the slot cut out. |

Litko has a line of Paper Figure stands that are designed for such a purpose: http://www.litko.net/products/Paper-Fig ... KWkkYacl64 Haven't purchased any to try out myself yet (always something else to spend money on...), but that should be ideal for what you're looking for. Magius out. |

Of you are looking for more just like the Pathfinder Bestiary Box, you can order them directly through Paizo. If you are looking for something that you can slip a cardstock one into, they won't work...you'll actually have to paste it on something thicker. I ordered some of the Litko ones. Me likee. Yeah they are expensive, but they work great for paper standees. Warning: Don't use cyanoacrylate/super glue/krazy glue on these. The fumes will cause the acrylic to fog. I learned this the hard way after I did my first 3. Then I switched to MEK and it worked wonders. |

FWIW, its also really easy to make these from foamcore, with various textures. Basic idea: 1) Get a texture sheet you like, and glue it down to foamcore. 2) Cut out each based at the appropriate size (say, 1"x1"). 3) Cut a slit in the middle of the base to slide the paper in. Done. I have hundreds of bases like this with various different terrains (mars, gravel, outdoors, etc) for paper minis. |
