I just skimmed back through things in anticipation of the start of this. Am I correct in thinking that $90 is the 'sweet spot' and gets any extra stretch goals? |

Yes, if you're looking for unpainted that'd be it. Refer-A-Friend and you get another bonus. Painted will be the $100 'sweet' spot. |

Some cool stuff, those updates definitely answered some of my concerns and questions. I'm also glad that all your large and up bases are not going to be square. I would have ended up likely rebasing them all to be circular. 4 directions vs all directions, helps a ton with mini placement. Turning a large mini, without having to readjust all minis standing next to it is a blessing. Also glad you're moving away from themes, PF's newly announced Skull & Shackles PPM's would have killed how much I would back on your KS if it was themed the same. Will you be providing any PF stats for the kraken? The PF bestiary is for a gargantuan, and you're definitely blows it out of the water by the scale, making me think it's rend ship extremely scary... |

One other stray thought (I hear the groans, "what, another one?"). I rely on the pledge descriptions on the right side rather than the pledge descriptions on the left side. I'm not 100% sure why -- somehow they seem more official to me -- so I read them more carefully than the description text on the left. Steve |

I appreciate your help. We had moved the "Add-ons" down at the advice of another supporter to "not scare off potential backers" by them seeing the add-ons so soon. We are reviewing the layout, and are tweeking it where we can to improve things. Added [Kraken] next to Over-sized where possible. Reduced the images for the Special Items to not make it so pre-dominate (not something you had brought up directly). No *groans* on that one Steve, the pledges to the right have to be accurate as they can't be changed. Talae, I tried a pledge guide near the bottom of the page, it's a big ugly - running short on time with a bunch to do, so may have to fix it after the launch... |

Ok, here are my thoughts: 1) WTF! 15$ shipping for a medium Mini? (This was really my first thought...) 2) Place a 1$ Thankyousomuch-only pledge level (no add-ons allowed). This way you attract people to jump in early, get updates and pledge higher with successful funding and stretch goals. 3) explain the BEDROCK LEVEL as an "add-on" pledge level. and I would make it a 8$ level. 10$ looks to expensive. 4) More Mini-Stretch goals. The Crowd loves numbers. Give 'em numbers! Like this: at 11k: one (better two) unpainted kraken tentacle bonus mini at 12.5k: unpainted wood coffin bonus mini at 14k: painted raven bonus mini (or something else. I think you get the idea) 5) your add-on prices are more expensive than on your retail web-site. I know KS is to collect money for a project, but most backers see to it as a cheap retailer for new minis. Bad for you, but that's KS-Life... 6) What about your pirate Minis?? Well, you have a HUGE Kraken and then what? A Beggar, a mastif and an Ant? You need sailors, pirates! Imho you should mention the pirates early as a stretchgoal if possible. Have a look at the Imbrian Arts Miniatures KS. It started with drawings of what could be and raised massive funds. Maybe the concept arts of the pirates can attract even more backers... |

Wow, there's a lot there that we can't do anything about Scout. I appreciate the input though. 1. $10 for a medium mini, if you are international $25, and I don't expect international buyers to be jumping in at this level - unless they don't want the Kraken, but want other figures. The +$15 is incase they do add-on a Kraken or something else that is substantially heavy. 2. Done! 3. Done! 4. Can not do this, we are at our maximum capacity for spending on the campaign. 5. They are rounded up for easier math. 6. Pirate minis will be done as stretch goals. We will share artwork during the campaign after we've launched. We don't want to overwhelm potential backers with too much information - we're already being accused of having too much as it is. |

Okay, going to start with what I think is being done right - I really like the Kracken, looks solid! At this point the $60 looks like the pledge that I want. I may add other things, but the $60 offers what I want, without adding things that Really do not hold much appeal. The shipping is a lot less of a landmine this time. Nice to see Canada getting a boost there as well. Those HP clips are still pretty darned nice. It did not occur to me until today that another fix to the 99 HP max might just be to make the peg higher, and add another wheel.... Now, things that I think may trip you up - I think that your $90 pledge level, which seems to be the center of your pledging goals, has way too much focus on things that may be of only marginal interest to your core market.  Folks that are likely to pledge for a miniatures Kickstarter want miniatures - the tee shirt might be nice, but most folks, I think, would rather have some miniatures. Ditto for the PDFs, and the coins... sorry, but those are not an attraction for me. The non-miniature items in that $90 goal dilutes the focus of what this Kickstarter is all about. The PDFs are another that might be problematic - Take a look at the backlash that Reaper got on adding some PDFs to their rewards as an example. Folks that were already getting an insanely good deal complained because one of the stretch goals was for a novel and a PDF of some pretty decent RPG rules. Having an adventure as part of the pledge limits the market to those folks that play the right system for that adventure. I play Pathfinder, I like the game. But I also have friends that play 7th Sea, they might love the Kracken and the mermaid, but the adventure would leave them flat. Maybe add the PDF as a 'free addon' to the pledges - which has pretty much the same effect, without making people think that part of their $90 is going towards an adventure that they might never run. (Yes, it is a card trick - the only thing being changed is the words, and where the adventure shows up on the screen. Make it optional at $90, but take it out of the main description of the $90 pledge.) I would suggest making the tee an addon, and putting some more miniatures in the $90 mix in its place. Maybe some of the already created DCM figures so that you don't have to wait on the molds, and cut down on production costs for one of your core levels. Right now... $60 looks a whole lot sexier than $90, which limits the funds from what could be the core of your drive. The Auld Grump, who used the word 'core' way too often for his own comfort. |
