Worlds End MUD is a great game, I play there frequently. It seems they've decided to junk the traditional aspects of a MUD and focus on roleplaying instead of leveling. There are also a bunch of other crazy ideas like game-wide quests and allowing players to buy and build houses or stores. Check out my main MUD at: or telnet to: [glow=red,2,300]quietus.org 9000[/glow] |

Now, I have to use this chance to plug my MUD. I am the owner/primary coder of the MUD Wrath of Andur. You can check us out here: . We have extended race/class selection, and some interesting changes taking place. We are a Role-Play MUD, and are in the begining stages yet, so there is a lot of room for staff positions, and for player testing and input. If anyone likes the idea of having a hand (directly or indirectly) in the creation of a game, come let us know. |

I used to play MUDs back in the mid 90's. Spent many an hour finding the one with all the stuff I wanted, then many an hour more actually playing it. Then I discovered MMORPGs. Ultima Online to be specific. Yikes. To make a long story short, I've had to swear off online RPGs of the MUD and UO style for my mental, social, and financial health. ![]() D ps, I take that back about financial health. I made quite a few dollars on eBay (from people with more money than brains, I guess) when I sold all my virtual properties and goods from UO. Heh! |

I tried muds a long time ago. and was not really impressed. Then came the MMORPG games and was hooked for a while. Then that burned out when they could not make a game without a hundred errors in it that we were supposed to locate and tell them about. and the constant having to upgrade to stay constant.. I will say that there are a few games out now that I really like. City of Heroes, Guild Wars(Not out yet), Morrowind(not on line but still good). |
