Ah, GM's Day.... This year I intend to hit up both and Just making notes for folks about the GM's Day sales online.... From Jon Brazer - Wednesday (today): Book of the River Nations: Complete Players Reference for Kingdom Building (d20PFSRD/DriveThruRPG) Thursday: Book of Beasts: Legendary Foes (d20PFSRD/DriveThruRPG) Friday: Shadowsfall: Shadow Plane Player's Companion (d20PFSRD/DriveThruRPG) Saturday: Book of Heroic Races: Seedlings (d20PFSRD/DriveThruRPG) Monday: Book of Beasts: Monsters of the Shadow Plane (d20PFSRD/DriveThruRPG) The Book of River Nations expands the rules for Kingdom Building and mass warfare from the Kingmaker Adventure Path. (It is a special mark of success when an adventure path spawns products from other companies.) I used it while running Kingmaker, and it was worth getting at full price, so... Shadowsfall interests me - and I do not yet have that one. So, Friday it goes in my cart. Rite Publishing and others are going with a straightforward 30% off of everything.... Rite is pretty reliable for getting good stuff. Several companies are gone from last years list - Fantasy Flight Games, Super Genius, Rogue Genius Games, Kobold Press isn't officially - but is in actuality. The Auld Grump |

Did you end up getting any / all of these? Two-and-a-half years later, have you used them? If so, how does the content hold up? |

I use the River Nations books fairly often - most recently in my Beyond the Borderlands campaign. (Starting location: The Keep on the Borderlands.... ) If you are running Kingmaker... I can highly recommend them. So, yeah - worth the money. The Auld Grump |

I ran it twice - sort of... I ran a game with Kingdom Building for grown ups, and a completely different game without Kingdom Building for nine year old children. (A dozen of them.... The group just kept getting bigger....) Running those same kids through a Skull & Shackles game of piratical Pathfinder... even with twelve(?!) kids, I am having a blast - and the youngest of the bunch... is a freakin' weasel! Playing a Kitune witch, and being very fee with casting charm person. (My favorite - she offered to heal one of the pirates, and told him that it was going to be slower than usual, she is just learning how to cast spells... and then cast both charm person and cure light wounds on the pirate. Really freakin' sneaky!) The Auld Grump |
