So, I finally saw the movie Ready Player One and loved it. I then read the book...twice...in a span of 5 days. And watched the movie a few more times. I would really like to run a campaign around this. I was thinking of running 1 system for the PCs real world activities and then a separate system for their time in the OASIS. I'm just not sure what system to use for those. The only ones I know that have technology and magic are: GURPS - the built in magic system really sucks Champions/Hero System - probably more involved and complicated than I want Starfinder - I'm not a huge fan, but it's got a magic system somewhat close to D&D, has future tech stuff, has starship combat, and my players are generally familiar with it Anyone have any suggestions on a better system to use? I'm not even sure what I'd want to use for the real world stuff. Several would probably work okay, but I would also like to go with something that's easy to GM. I don't want to have to spend a ton of time statting up NPCs and enemies. |
