I was picked up from work today and my mom needed to swing by Liquidation World, a discount store for liquidated items. I was doing my usual walkthru of the toy section looking for small animal bags or vehicles at cheap prices to fill out my miniature needs when I happened to find row upon row of gaming books, all priced at 50 cents, so going thru them I figured a gaming store must have gone out of business and chances of me finding anything really useable would be slim to none. Lol, I found Rifts Russia ($39), Macross deckplans 2 & 3 ($17 each), TMNT Truckin Turtles ($11), DragonLance Classics Volume 3 ($15), Bubblegum Crisis RPG book (always wanted to check out but not for $44), DragonLance: Citadel of Light game box ($35), and two Immortal books (Shapeshifters manual, and Art of War, $22 each). That's $222 worth of gaming books and maps for $4.50 all totalled
, very cool find.
I could have gone nuts there too, they had all kinds of gameing stuff from GURPS, D&D & several others to homemade RPG games, as well as several novels and gaming aids (gaming screens for several types of games, Scrye mags, comics).
I could have done without the rude response at the checkout, she took one look at the price tags and reacted like I had replaced all the tags with 50 cent ones. It took her punching in the codes for each book and going to the shelf they were located on before finally adding up my total. Made me feel like I was some kinda theif...lol, ok, at that price I did feel like one, but an honest one. Sometimes the best deals are attached to the worst service. I have a bad feeling next time I swing in there the prices on those books might just be a bit higher
