Well, I've never had whatever that is suppose to be but I'll take your word for it ... that is might be awesome. And you can take my word ... German Potato Salad is awesome! It has a certain zap, definitely the vinegar and bacon. |

And I am someone who likes Vidalia onion ice cream. (Many years ago some friends bought a pint at an onion festival in Georgia as a joke, and gave it to me. I ate almost all of it, then let them try it. The stuff was yummy! They expected it to taste like, well, onions. But Vidalias are quite sweet.) The Auld Grump, who also likes ginger snaps with sour cream. |

Then there is Oklahoma potato salad. The folks there mash the poor spuds before mixing them in.

If I had a recipe I would definitely send it, but unfortunately I don't know how they make sausage in batter (in a chip shop, done the same as cod in batter) or how to make nice airy pastry for the sausage rolls. The sausages in the UK are all very different, but I haven't ever made a sausage from scratch. The extent of my cooking is toast

My wife and I have hiked, N. Ireland and Scotland, as well as getting married in Scotland, then going back for my brothers wedding as well. And man I do so miss the pastries and butcher shops. So many different kinds of sausage. Though N.Ireland had for more competing butchershops, each one had a different color scheme with the armbands and hats and so on. Was a damned cool thing, just not used to butcher sops and pastry shops around the US. Yeah, I know mince, neeps and tatties is kinda blah workman food, but damn thats goooood eating. Yes I am also a hardcore fan of haggis. Champ will fill ya up too. Serious starchy heavy eats, but when you are hiking 3 weeks straight from Belfast to Londonderry and back you need it. N. Irelands fish and chips... maybe I had a bad run of shops but blah. wasn't impressed even with malt vinegar, deep fried Mars bar! I was going to try one, but I had barely two quid to rub together. |

Reubens, yum!!! I have rarely eaten a really good, authentic one though. I usually make em myself, with...mixed.....results. Truth be told, I hate food, even the stuff I like. If I could eat a magic food pill so I would not have to eat...I would. |

I've had pigs in a blanket in the US, didn't much care for them, but the UK version was much tastier. In the UK, they are small sausage links wrapped in a slice of bacon
Corn dogs are okay, but again they are absolutely nothing like a sausage in batter. I don't know how to describe it, but I love em. It's fried batter, not baked, and is very cripsy. But even crispy batter in the US isn't that good (KFC). I wish I knew enough to explain the difference but I only know how good they taste, and how they are nothing like anything I've found over here. Arabin |

DeltaIce, try pigs in blankets the way my mum makes them. I don't know the right way to do them, but they are simply little sausge links wrapped in a slice of bacon each. You could the bacon on the sausage, and they are scrumpious
