Oh darn ... did I misname this place???

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of one of my projects:
The MOUNT VERNON (foamcore prototype. 1:24 scale)




The Mount Vernon is being done solely because I love the architecture. There is another one that will also be 1:24 scale that is commemorative of a childhood memory, a Second Empire victorian called 'Queen of Heaven'.

I was 9 y.o. when I first saw her from my hospital window. I had never seen such a beautiful place before and it became very special to me. Decades later I would be part of an effort to save her. I spent a whirlwind three weeks photographing, measuring, and drawing her before she was destroyed.

Anyone else have any 'memory' projects?

George Washington was a very frugal man. He employed faux painting treatments throughout the inside of his house, and on the exterior sawed pine siding to look like stone blocks. I would have liked to add all the house dependances as well, but the spaced required is prohibitive. I will do the kitchen and gteenhouse only.

That is an amzing model... please keep posting photos of it It's hard to imagine that it's all foamcore. You certainly have talent.

I should experiment with foamcore more... I use it just as support for cardstock, but it clearly has many uses of it's own.

I'm slacking on most projects right now. I have too many ideas, and too little execution. I'll come up with something cool, tweak it until it makes my head hurt trying to make sure all the elements would work together, and then I trying assembling it and struggle with some basic element or other... which kind of kills the project.

Due partially to the Seattle gaming group not meeting since June, I'm playing more computer games than tabletop games right now, which has me fiddling around with game editors like NWN2.

I would love to see other buildings as you make them from whatever material though. Larger photos are good, so we can really zoom in on those little details.
