That is wierd. But it's still hard to beat our local 'weta' (after which Weta Workshops is named ). They are the heaviest insects in the world, though the ones we get here in Wellington are a little bigger, but without the front horns. And they do come into houses - I was woken one night in bed when one crawled across my face! (sounds like I'm not the only one ) |

Lightly toasted with a little seasoning ... mmm, delicious! And healthy, too, lots of good protein. |

While I've never seen a cricket that large in Florida, we do have the Lubber Grasshopper, the males get to be just under 2 inches in length while females are bigger, about 2 3/4 inches. While grasshoppers don't really bother me, specially since they don't come inside usually, we do have cochroaches which do come inside all of the time. I've had them crawling on me in my sleep numerous times, and I've even had the bastards bite me, which really hurts! No matter how clean I keep my house, they keep coming back! By the way, the catepillar is really cool looking, but I'm not sure I'd handle it, even though their horns don't sting! ![]() Skunk You wanna be alright you gotta walk tall Long Beach Dub Allstars & Black Eyed Peas Check out what games I’m working on and their status by visiting . |

Aha! Not spiders, but two of those legs aren't legs either.... So, I was both right and wrong, since the extra pair of legs was what triggered my 'not a spider' response. And now a creature that feasts on human flesh.... The dust mite - eats the flakes of skin that you shed every day, lives in carpets and vacuum cleaners.... The Auld Grump, who is a fan of Avondales.... |
