Been away for a while (too much work) and haven't really built anything for ages. Anyway, picked up the new version of Confrontation the other day and thought i'd pass on my thoughts... Prepainted mini's are quite nice tho I have re-done the bases (oh and one of them has got his head stuck on backwards. Trying to decide if I can be bothered to cut it off and stick it on the right way). The scenery peice (its a small ruin) isn't bad and after a bit of a drybrush comes up ok. Rules are nicely presented but it's not a "full" rule book. It's got all of the rules in it but not much fluff about the world and background. lots of nice pictures of the beautiful rackham sculpts. Only thing that has let it down for me is the "play mat" that comes with it. It's tiny. the scenery peice looks massive on it and the mini's don't look much better. Anyway, there you go and when I get around to playing a game with it, i'll let you know how it went. Cheers Mr Blackhammer |

The mini's are very nice. The rules are well done. Ikve been through the intro scenarios and I am waiting th new wolfen figs to try out larger game. We will be proxying the other armies, and maybe some of the wolfen depending on how big a game we are going to be playing. The rulebook is laid out introducing new rules via scenarios. With no index, it will be difficult to find a rule for clarification. I do like the product and what Rackham has done with their flagship product. CCotD' |

Don't they have a downloadable rulebook as well? Maybe something NOT organized by scenario? I love the whole idea of slowly adding rules in scenario play, but when thats the only place TO find the rules, can be...vexing. |

Try twisting the head around first. Many of the AT-43 mini's are poseable. |

We were really unimpressed with AT-43.... the rules more than the miniatures to be honest......... and we have basically refused to look into the new version of Confrontation, version 3.0 is our choice and we still play this version. But it looks as though a lot of the Confrontation players who don't like the new version are moving to other games such as Dark Age, Infinity and Hell Dorado. Good luck to ya if you do like the new Confrontation, though I wouldn't expect many of the old guard to join ya..... ![]() |

I like pre-paints, but I did get the vibe that Confrontation's minis were preferred when they were unpainted. Most of the people around here also complain at the pre-painted minis. They prefer the old ones, and they also prefer the old rules. |
