Has anyone played this? It seems like a good fit for Arena Works, minus the hex grid. Ludus Gladiatorius: it even has a follow-up: |

I haven't seen that little gem before. If I may inquire, where did you track it down, and if I may be so bold, what did it run you? |

My local group uses the rules . The rules are a lot of fun to play. They cover all the types of gladiators, armour, weapons and animals. They are home produced so the rulebook has a basic layout. But I highly recommend them. As for figures we have been using . I haven't personally played Ludus Gladiatorius so I can't comment on how that plays. -Audrey |

I use TwoHourWargames 'Red Sand, Blue Sky' with a mix of Foundry and Old Glory gladiators (for better variety), and I made a big (42x27-inch) Arena with Arenaworks (sadly, this didn't make the trip back to hawaii, so Im arenaless until i get another built). I like the look of 'Ludus G' for an intro, but I wanted a lot more and different gladiators. |

I bought it for the pre-paints but actually quite enjoy the game. It is simple and not too demanding, but works ok. However, I prefer Red Sand Blue Sky for gladiators because it has a bit more depth and I like the campaign. Now all I have to do is actually win a few games of it. |
