The least expensive producer of quality miniatures I've seen to date, with metal figures coming in at around 60 cents US each. (15 dollars for 24 figures)

Gotta go with Reaper. I like Foundry a lot too but they're a little on the pricey side (good if you need character models as opposed to armies).

As far as individual, paint 'em minis, Reaper can't be beat. And they're Texans, too.

I like D&D minis a lot, but I'm not sure if you'd want to pursue a partnership with HasBorg or not. I seem to recall you mentioning something about talking with them once upon a time, but I don't remember the details. (And I'm not asking, just blathering.)


And I'd love to see modules with WWG terrain included for the key elements of the module. Maybe some of your faithful should put together a mini-module or two, and you could use those as demo packs...

Reaper is, hands down, the absolute best compromise between Quality (high) and price (reasonable).

I also own a great deal of Games Workshop products...their plastics can be nearly of Reaper quality and a bit cheaper in price....but the metals get SO expensive.

My absolute favorite for appearance and quality is Confrontation, but they are off the charts price-wise as well. If you want GREAT minis, and aren't afraid to pay lots for them, they're the way to go.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the current D&D miniatures are very reasonable price-wise, but second-rate in quality. I also can't stand their "random selection" distribution.

Finally...on a historic note...Old Glory has a lot of historics and a small, limited fantasy line. About the most reasonable price I've ever seen on all-metal minis, decent variety within a pack, and a LOT of different genres to choose from.

actually the dragglestown figures come out to be a bit less expensive than the D&D line, and are much higher quality, and are metal figures.

I'd have to say that my current favorites are those by Privateer Press, but that's probably a dry well (unless, of course, you make a deal to produce scenery within their Iron Kingdoms setting), because they're pretty backed up with their own in-house stuff.

Reaper makes great minis, as do Dark Age games. I doubt these are great collaboration prospects, though.

I assume when folks are talking about Dragglestown, they are talking about the old Hobby Products (Metal Magic) re-releases. Dragglestown also sells other companies' minis, like Reaper and Fenryll.

I like the Metal Magics, but they are pretty small compared to newer figs.

My vote is Eureka.
But you should check out Pulp figures too. Murch used to sculpt for another company but now does his own out of Canada. Check out the US Rocket Corps (ala Rocketeer).

I've been using my MK figs for my D&D games for over a year. They work fine. I don't need exact matches. Just rough approximations.

Also, use a blow-drier for re-positioning/straightening plastic figs. Then put them in the refrigerator. This is good for figs you don't want to get wet (ie. still on the combat dial).
