We've just had 3 bronze plaques stolen from our WW2 memorial down in Plymouth. They listed some of the Royal Marines who gave their lives for these scum in WW2. Scrap value to the theives approx £200 each. Priceless to the relatives as these were all men and women with no graves. 2 people have apparently been caught thanks to the selfless attitude of a scrap dealer who realised what they were despite attempts to grind off the names. The mind boggles and the family nature of this forum prevents a full spleen venting. After seeing a couple of these brave veterans pretty much reduced to tears on the news it makes the blood boil. |

During a routine traffic stop in Parksville a guy was caught with dozens of metal grave markers...which were on the car seat beside him! BUSTED!!!!!! Seriously scrap metal theft is getting to be a big problem. I saw a report from Vancouver where a billboard next to a busy highway was dismantled and carted away on broad daylight.... 15k worth of aluminum. Lots of the local hillbillies do it too. |

Arrghh...not a WW2 memorial!!! B@astards!!! I think I saw some Royal Marines doing a tour of HMS Victory. They had a red square on the front of the uniform..I think it's the last fragment of the old red uniforms but I could be wrong. |

In Detroit they're having a big problem with people breaking into houses and stealing all the copper pluming. Near me they just steal air conditioner compressors from the yard. |

For some time there has been a problem with people stealing tombstones and selling them as . 
Because of a morbid muse I tend to keep my eyes and ears open for such perfidy. The Auld Grump, fee fee, fi fi, fo fo, fum. There's no smoke from the crematorium.... *EDIT* Here in Maine there was a problem with brain stealing by the medical examiners.... |
