The 9th tool down on the left? It creates vector based lines/outlines. You use a ton in Illustrator, which is the program in migrated over from. It takes a bit to get used to using, but is invaluable for creating drawings, icon and so on that can be increased and decreased in size without losing details. EDIT: that really doesn't answer your question, huh? Try the PS tutorials with the program, they do help learning how to use some of the tools that don't make sense off hand. |

Jeez...figured out what I needed to do. The secondary tool has to be the LINE tool instead of a shape. THEN it will use the paint brush and do whatever you have. Makes sense NOW, but sure confused the heck out of me before! Thanks anyway, guys. |

Freehand 9 FTW!!!!! Illustrator is Adobe's worst product IMO. Funny about vector. It feels so...wrong...to build pictures out of MATH. I have huge respect for those who can actually do it. Too bad it's so scalable and editable. I was reading once about kids using FLASH as a drawing program. I think my head blew up at that point. |

So, the reason I asked this is because I am trying to make some paper minis in association with another artist. I am sure its pretty obvious who. Anyway, here is what I have so far. |

Sorry to get off topic. My hat is off to anyone who can get vector art to behave. It was kind of coming back to me as I was tracing the detailed , tedious logo design. It's been like 8 years since I've done any amount of vector. Oddly enough I remember doing Arenaworks in Freehand to get the measurements right, and after a while just doing everything in PS. Ok, thats enough for now. |
