The funny thing is that I'm pretty sure Mike McVey is in charge of sculpts and paint scheme choice for the Warcraft minis. |

I don't know what everyone's so down about. They take a different tack than most of their competitors, but I think it really works; it's consistent, unique and aesthetically a lot more thought-out than most minis I've seen. |

The bottom line is that it will sell well no matter what. |

I think they look fine, comparable to the other PPP minis out there. Nothing wrong with them that a brush and some paint can't fix. I will be playing 'cause my friends are, but I will be buying mine in the aftermarket. |

I will be trying these out as well. I actually like the bases. The figures are almost too big, but I am sure the game will sell well considering how popular WoW is. |

I don't have an interest in the game, but I like the figures as much as I like the D&D ones. I'm worried they're too big for WW stuff though. |

Pokemon mini's are better. You have to keep in mind that World of War Craft minis will be priced based on projected sales. Frankly no matter how good minis are, its the game that will really win it out in the end. Hasn't Halo all but disappeared. Strange but I thought it would do well. Specifically, the whole, run around kill bad guys pick up ammo and medicine thing would do well as a board game. Personally, I think that the problem with the 'click' wheel games is the over reliance on the click wheel. If you used a click wheel for damage, etc, and a Privateer Press style card, I think you'd have a winner. (No more pen marking up sleeved cards.) Mechwarrior ran out of combinations for mech\unit capabilities, so WOTC went scrambling for new ways to keep the game fresh. This is a primary reason why I'm concerned about how many 'dimensions' a game has to its play. Fewer dimensions a' la click wheel, more boring play. |

Its too bad about halo. I would have liked to try the game but I didn't have any cash to get into it and then the few people I gamed with moved. But I really appreciate the way ease of record keeping with the wheels. I like the idea of having more to the game the just smash the other team like in heroclix. |

I was completely hooked on WoW for a while, and am glad to have broken away... although I am now hooked on LOTRO instead... oh well. In WoW, I really loved the Orcs. They look mean, and a fun to play... unfortunately the mini there doesn't capture the feel at all. I know Warcraft is a bit cartoony in general, but the orc with the giant axe and oversized shoulders doesn't look cool as in the game. I'll probably pick some up on ebay though, and see what can be made of them. At least the head is sculpted nicely ![]() Arabin |
