I'm so sorry to hear you are being layed-off, Kane. The unemployment situation isn't good to say the least. Several in my family are on the edge. I am trying to explain to them that receiving help does not mean a loss of stature or wrong in other ways. I was born in the Great Depression years. Everyone helped each other. Its how we survived. They won't except my help. How to make them understand??? They are not taking from an old lady. I am offering help with love and despite the generations between us I am FAMILY, not just someone from their parents' old photo albums. It is very hard on them ... I understand; it brings tears to my eyes. I don't push, but I have tried to talk to them and listen. I know they are afraid for their future. I can only hope they will give me a chance to help as many had given me, my brothers and sister, and my parents. |

Wow. Things changed FAST. Layed off yesterday and today, someone else was flat out FIRED. Needless to say, this opened a position which they immediately offered me. It will be making deliveries instead of taking them, but its temporary until things pick back up and they can put me back in the office. |
