Daz 3D is offering membership in their this weekend - I am pretty sure that there are some Bryce users here (hi Paul), and at 50% membership is pretty much a good thing. Lots of stuff runs at $2 for members, some at less.

The base human figures were recently made into free downloads.
The Platinum Club is a discount club for 3D models for programs such as Bryce and Daz 3D, getting a short membership and downloading the discounted stuff can add up pretty quick - for example, they have a fair selection of steampunk terrain, vehicles, and figures.
They even recommend joining with a friend and sharing what you get - what would be piracy, if they weren't recommending it.
Bryce is a trifle beyond my abilities, though I have a slightly out of date version, but I am tempted anyway - the price is good, and I may take a while trying it out, someday....
