I have had this game sitting on the shelf for good part of a year or so and not played it - mainly because I could stand the single coloured plastic figures. So it sat there until the other day - I got it out and punched all the cardboard and bagged it all.....

Then edged everything.

I mean it's a wonderful looking board, sexy tokens and character cards but it has raw Card showing!

Then I looked at the figures once more..... and took them to the sink for a bubble bath. Cleaning off the factory residue and reshaping was cathartic (for the figures too). Next day I took them out to the shed and undercoated in black.

Over the past three/four days I have done the zombies and I am kind of happy with them now. I will post shots once their bases have been done (I am thinking of either OneMonk base tops trimmed to fit the feet or go the sand and paint option ). Of course the Zombies are block coated with base colours, washed and highlighted with the colour once more... then washed again and maybe again.... They came out ok

Now the Heroes are another matter. I need help here. I don't intend to layer much beyond - Block coat, wash, hightlight with block coat then highlight again with shade highter... and some combos of above. Extra washes as needed.

Using GW paints .... as I have easy access to getting the onese I don't have (god I had to throw so many away)can I get some paint recipes for the following:

One of the heroes is a African woman - Skin tones
Base skin colour on men and woman - do you use the same base or shift between?
Jeans, blue - Good base colour and highlighs
Straw hat - Colour
Yellow styled work man boots


Any tricks that might work in general would be wonderful.

If you've not done the denim yet you can apparently get a good result with GW mordian blue, blending up with bleached bone. Have a look here for examples:

Thanks for that - I haven't had a chance to touch these guys yet. Looks like the way to go and the better plus is that I have the colours.
