...Anyone know where I could get some?...or if any are even available? it's for one of Mel's new dropships. I know Mel has said, as one of his reasons for preferring no cockpit interiors, is the lack of suitable figures ![]() Granting that I dont game with these, and that they would be in standalone models...If no 1/60th scale..Would 1/48th or 1/72 look more natural against a nominal 1/60th vehicle? I really want to do some detailed cockpits of some of the new stuff...so any help would be much appreciated ![]() Thanks folks ![]() In case you have not seen it yet.. |

Maybe you can find some usable figures in the railroad hobby. Here is a sight for S scale ... 1/60. You might be able to customize them. |

You are most welcome. My builds and plans usually are mostly for dioramas and to support my brother's sci-fi writing (helping him to envision his worlds and scenes). I've been thinking of working with polymer clay to model some pose-able figures. I have never sculpted in such a small scale and wonder if I would be able to do it. Anyway, Mel's new dropship is wonderful! Working with it will be very satisfying. |

Solospirit, 1:60 is 30mm scale, pretty much the standard size for 1" minis these days - which is great because the range available is huge. I'm not familiar with the different manufacturers, but no doubt theres plenty here who can make recommendations. p.s. Just how big is the model when it's made up? Just followed the link you posted which says it's 4" high and a bit over 1' square. |

[quote="Zenguy...Who's your brother Delta? And what a great use for WWG sets - he must really appreciate your work ![]() He is a spunky old codger ... just turned 80 last month and sports an Amish looking beard. ![]() He started writing after he retired. He does both historical and sci-fi novels (mostly sci-fi). He has not submitted any manuscripts to date. He's been learning his craft as he goes. Right away we noticed he needed a bit of help 'setting the scene' so to speak. That is when I got involved ... sketching visuals and then after discovering 3D paper terrain using models as well. I use models from a lot of sources and media and then work to fit them to the scene we are looking for. He likes them a lot and it helps his focus. Its not an unusual thing to do. Other authors have used models as a part of their creative process as well. I'm always picking up globes at rummage sales too and repainting them with whatever world he is creating. So in the end he can have these visual aids around him. It keeps us both creative. |

Zenguy, Roughly 12in wide, 14 long and 4 high. If you look at some of the other pics you can see nominal 28mm scale figures in the fore/background ![]() Thanks again for the scaling tips...Im getting a better idea of what there is to work with now...This is going to be an interesting little project for sure ![]() Deltaice, that sounds like a fun and cool way for you two to collaborate and enjoy each others hobbies ![]() |
