Doing some reviews/articles for a Gamma World fanzine - I will post the link when/if it goes live.

Reviewing Titan for use in a PA setting, along with Mayhem Destroyed, a review of Mantic zombies, and an article on speed painting zeds.

I cannot find my can lights for taking photos... and the paper that I used seems to eat light.... Ah well, the zeds don't look bad. But I am rusty as heck. It has been the better part of a year since I took any photos, and those were all outdoors, even the night shots.

This week my players will finally be heading off to the very first part of this campaign that ever I wrote. Disney World and The Darkened Tunnels.

The first encounter with Ethan Sparkes - Night Ghoul and former Paladin of the BoS; an ambush by the Kreigers; the Enclave and The Guns of Splash Mountain; Donald Duck at the crossroads with a machine gun; the first appearance of The Visitors; the second appearance of Henry P. leTota; Walt Disney on Ice!

I have been looking forward to this since I first started working on this campaign. Much has changed over the years - some of the original plot for Uncle Walt was moved over to become The Ringmaster for the Freak Show, the Visitors are less present, and Henry P. leTota has been introduced as the arc's major villain.

They are heading there looking for music to run in The Mighty Wurlitzer for the Freakshow (one major change of plans - I expected the team to distrust the Freakshow, instead they decided early on that they liked these folks, regardless of whatever secret they are hiding).

Yeah, one group of my players are constantly doing things I never thought they'd do. The other group tends to do things I expect and 2 of the players are in both groups. Course, the ones that do things I don't consider have 2 players that think it's them vs the GM.

Good idea with Donald Duck, never thought of that when I was running my Gamma World campaign and the group ran across Disney World. I'll have to remember that if I ever run another Gamma World campaign!

How could I resist this little fellow?



Then again, I did a Slann for Warhammer using a Kermit 'Frog Prince' figurine from Toys 'R' Us....

I ran the first part of this arc tonight... very, very tired right now....

Two PCs downed tonight - unless somebody is very lucky with a Medicine check, or has a syringe of Regen(TM) that I have forgotten about, then at least one is likely to be retired after this. Deep into the negatives.

Rocket launchers are bad news. The team had a couple of chances to take the heavy down before he could reach the launcher, but missed with all four shots. He hit what he wanted with the rocket, catching two PCs close to the center, and one on the fringes of the explosion.

Could have been worse, since they got warning of the ambush, and had the ghoul sniper with them, but since they didn't really trust him they did not put him in the best position - if they had then the launcher would likely have never been called into play.

Thinking about an arena scenario as an alternate starting point for the campaign, most likely in the Bundine Stadium (once upon a time the original name for the Orange Bowl), now gone as it was torn down in 2008. The name Bundine Stadium is a better fit for the Fallout setting, and if the players look it up then they will be able to find it.

PCs will start with nothing any starting equipment that they have purchased will be in a secure locker in their owner's home.

He may allow them to 'earn' the equipment back, or they can try to steal it back from him at some point.

Likely Arena Works will be used for the stadium.

Inside a Vault is the only TURE way to start a campaign despite what New Vegas says.

That is how the primary start goes - a Vault that is opening its doors, but wants to have all the ducks in a row when it happens.

There is a very good chance that something horrible happens to the Vault in mid campaign, about Year 2. Possibly the actual destruction of the place.

I am considering a modified Kingmaker system for part of the mid game, either an Exodus from the Vault or just the founding of support settlements.

No contact has been made yet with the War of the Sexes Vaults. A misleading title - the intent was to have two Vaults that used cloning techniques, divided between Male and Female Vaults, neither with enough supplies to survive.... The idea was to demonstrate the superiority of one gender over the other, and the ascendancy of force over nurture.

The reality was that the two Vaults were secretly in contact from the beginning, forged an early alliance, then opened their Vault and pacified their immediate area. A sane and stable bastion, with nothing heinous going on.

The Overseers of the Male Vault found out the plan for the Gender War and broke protocol even before the first bombs fell. The Cloning facilities are still functional, but are seldom used - most children are created the old-fashioned way.

I never realized that I needed piles of burning tyres until I saw those - but I have seen them in every modern warzone that I can remember. Now that I have seen them I can't imagine not using them for a PA setting.

He's on a roll! Vault Tec armour is up! Also, he will be posting an armed vault dweller soon. Gotta pay off my reaper kickstarter so I can grab some of these new ones!!

Also, new from Armorcast! Brahmin, Centaur, Giant Rad Scorpion and Yao Guai! They also have a 3 pack of bloat flies but the picture was terrible. Lots of Fallout goodness lately.

Nice new offering from Brother Vinni! Now I can do my unit of NCR Ranger Veterans.

As far as terrain goes (my bag), I could suggest several WWG sets. I am running a time travel campaign and two of the locations is Post-WWIII and Post-WWIII+200 years (think original Total Recall Mars set but on Earth).

I am using Destroyed!, Streets of Legend, and Mayhem (1&2+Mini Mart) for the WWIII set. For the future set I am using Mars Station for the above ground setting and Red Sector for the underground bunker which is accessed through the bay doors set from Mars Station.

If you start looking at the sets as a whole, you can free your imagination and mix and match to suit your needs.

If you are going urban enough to use a Disney themed element, check out MegaMall. I could see a derelict mall going into disuse and now a main base for the Enclave or even the Romans.

I never could bring myself to gain the Dream Crusher perk - Moira was trying to make the world a better place.

The Auld Grump, and in that pursuit I blew myself up, irradiated myself, snuck through mirelurk infested sewers, did battle with robots, and went grocery shopping.... Good times indeed!

Now I want to play Fallout 3 again....
