Post subject: | Fallout RPG - Terrain Essentials? Minis? |
Whoops, suddenly realized I had my fora crossed.... Here's what I meant to put here: What pieces of terrain would folks feel essential for a Fallout campaign? Titan looks like a clear choice - for the construction of Vaults, if nothing else. Some ramshackle shacks, a trailer or two, and a chem plant are already in my non-WWG terrain choices. A free downloadable version of the Disneyland sign will be useful for the Disneyworld cycles planned for the campaign. (The Darkened Tunnels, and the Guns of Splash Mountain....) Some carnival/amusement park terrain would be good for The Freakshow, operating out of Gibtown. (Can you picture a Behemoth carrying a circus tent on his back? I knew you could. ) What am I missing? On a related note - what minis are out there to represent denizens of the Wastes? For the opening scenario I used these little fellows: Rabbit Swarm by Megaminis.com - for a critter that I titled Lepus Atrox, or what F.E.V. does to cute li'l bunny wabbits.. I can't quite put my finger on it, but this fellow looks familiar.... 'Mega Mutant' by Reaper Miniatures. Giant ants, scorpions, etc.. are easily available. Less available, giant roaches... though I think there are some plastic novelties. The Auld Grump |

Post subject: | Minis For Fallout? |
Dusting off the Fallout campaign... again.... Picking miniatures for the setting is entertaining - at this point most come from - Demo Bot - kind of pricey, but a good look for the setting. Several variants - those shoulder pads are optional, and one of the claws can be replaced with a weapon. I am doing two, one without the shoulder armor and with two claws - a cargo mover pressed into combat duty, maybe. The other will have have the armor, a weapon, and only one claw. Folks who have been to the Pitt will recognize this weapon.... Wardroid 1 - I may modify this into a Robobrain. Standing in for Mr. Handy is a Security Drone. Cyclops Mining Rig - May be a good choice for a Sentry Bot, or I may split him in two. Lower chassis for RoboBrain, and cobble three wheeled legs for adding to the torso to make a Sentry Bot. Lauck, who owns Mega Minis is slowly liquidating his molds, so you may want to get anything you want from them before all that much longer. While the molds are being sold, not destroyed, tracking down where the figures have gone might be a nuisance. WotC Chuuls are being considered for Mirelurks, Mantic Zombies and Ghouls for Feral Ghouls, more civilized zombies from all over for your standard Ghoul Around Town. The Auld Grump |

Yep, Chuuls will do for Mirelurks - Image from Auggie's, where I may be getting what I need/ want. Not perfect, but they'll do. Brotherhood of Steel is easy, as are Enclave - power armor and scary looking power armor. Harder is wondering how to cover a frozen Walt Disney.... The Auld Grump |

Get a miniature that looks good enough, put it in a casket and fill it with clear/bluish tinted resin? |

The Pandora King figure from Crooked Dice looks nice painted up in a Vault dweller's jumpsuit. The Boilersuited Minions, with human heads, from the same company can also fit. There are also boilersuited figures from Artizan and Copplestone Castings. |

Raiders and Wastelanders.... Lead Adventure Miniatures has a nice line of PA warriors - Witches of the Apocalypse (Lead Adventures, available through CoolMiniOrNot.Com ) They also have a line of PA Merchants coming out - *** Hersy has a line that might *cough, Orlock, cough, cough* seem familiar - Trenchcoat Gang by Heresy. Oddly, one of those fellows has been pressed into service as a Mage in Steampunk. One of the bald ones.... Pretty much all the likely FO3 weapons are represented. They also make a particularly nasty line of ghouls - Including one that is eating a baby. The Auld Grump |

I've been searching a lot as well. has a line called EDEN: Surviving the Apocalypse. They are a bit on the $pendy side but they look great. eM4 Miniatures has a line called that looks good. Strangely they look similar to Copplestone Castings Although I have not seen any duplicate poses, the models armor on some are identical. Abberant Games has CSO Peace Keepers which would make good power armor have some Trench Warfare models that could work has some good miniatures as well, but I noticed that they have pulled their online store for the moment for their second edition rules/models. Pig Iron Productions also has a few good lines of miniatures |

Yeah, I have been considering the Rez figures for BoS. Reaper has this charming fellow - Drop the crossbow and give him a hunting rifle.... Now if Mel would do a Vertibid.... The Auld Grump |

For the Survivors of the Wasteland including the Gangers have a look at the eM4 Future Skirmish primarily Savages and the Scavengers. For an armed Vault Dweller you also have Dionne from Hasslefree. Cor regular citizens of the wastes (or those around New Vegas) get some Pulp minis wearing the suits and fedoras for the men and dresses (not the Flapper outfits though) for those wearing Prewar clothing. As for a group like the NCR maybe eM4 Troopers and Para Military (the Para Military to represent officers), if you wanted to do Fallout 2 NCR cops then the eM4 cops would fit the bill. |

And of course the Future Warriors line by Copplestone continues to be excellent, if no longer expanded upon. Available through And Future Wars at . The Auld Grump |

I found the mother of all miniatures The does not appear to be as large as a securitron should be, but I think it would still be worth getting at £3.00 each! From which has some amazing street tiles and Paper buildings has this great Mirelurke King It may not be a Giant Scorpion Robot but this model from would work! |
