I am a huge fan of this basically free tool: . It takes a little time to set up, but once you start stealing the background music from games like Oblivion, Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age, plus some classical and CDs like Dronolan's tower it gives great background sets. The add some on demand sound effects, and everything you are looking for is right at your finger tips. I typically sort the music into: General, Resting, Suspensful, Fights and Environment specific. That saves me from having the big FIGHT music come on in the middle of a calm talking scene... |

Syrinscape now has about 15 or so slots that you can assign FX sounds to. Can't hot swop them but it's a lot better. What I'd love though is a surround sound system and be able to assign WHERE the sound is heard. Nothing puts the wind up people than the sound of a gun cocking just behind them... ![]() |

We usually have Aliens or the Lord of the Rings playing in the background. |

For D&D it's currently Enslaved "Below The Lights", Slough Feg "Twilight Of Idols", Univers Zero & The Sword. Instrumentally it's been the World Of Warcraft Sndtrk, the second disc in the Hammer Films music collection, & Diablo Soundtrack. For Marvel SAGA it's been Darkest Of the Hillside Thickets, Electric Six, & Cage The Elephant. Instrumentally it's been Doctor Who Sndtrck, American McGee's Alice Sndtrck, and some good ole' Goblin. Great thread, I've already begun to put some playlists together in my head just based on the excellent suggestions. |
