I have a few EABA supplements, among others the excellent Stuff! book, which I recommend highly, whatever system you're using. It basically allows you to stat gadgets, vehicles, creatures or civilizations in a mostly system-agnostic, relatively easy way. So you can use the results easily for other games - I've used Stuff! with Gurps a lot. EABA itself is a generic system, suitable for many genres and settings. It's - imo - pretty easy to use and understand. Since the rules can be used for so many different games, I consider the learning you do have to invest a profitable effort. If I wasn't already so heavily into Gurps, EABA might tempt me as my basic go-to system. Again imo, BTRC produces good games anyway. You can get a free EABA light somewhere, which you might want to check out. The settings are indeed interesting. I have Nocturne, though I haven't done anything with it yet. imo, you could do much worse than giving EABA a shot. |

I'm used to D&D 3.x and Traveller, mostly. I'm thinking about trying to get my group to switch over to a generic system, and EABA might be what I'm looking for. In any case, the pdf is only $13, so it's kinda hard to go wrong ![]() ![]() |
