I Just got MineCraft yesterday. Dear gods, this game did to me what Fallout: New Vegas failed to do - I saw the rosy light of dawn because I couldn't stop playing it. The premise is simple - you build a mine in a monster haunted world, gathering resources. The graphics are simple - everything is squarish - even the sun and the moon. The gameplay is simple - WASD and mouse, and I for inventory. A stuplidly good game, even in Beta. MineCraft can be purchased (if the site is working....) The Auld Grump |

I have stayed away from this game on purpose. I have friends that seem to have forgotten what it is like to go outside. I just can't afford a time-sink like that. I have terrain building to "waste" my time on. PS If interested, I can post some of their cool screenshots. |

My most spectacular death - I was off wandering in a forest when I was surprised by a Creeper, with the usual result. After respawning I ran back towards the place where I had died, in order to retrieve my stuff. The forest was on fire. And there was a pool of lava where my body was supposed to be... The explosion had created a new volcano! The Auld Grump, freakin' Creepers.... |
