The walls of a dark ruin jut out of the earth, a feel of menace about them...but not enoughso as to not benefit from the windbreak they provide for a night's camping. What will happen during the night? That's up to you! This is the first WorldWorks Encounter Challenge. Similar to the model-building challenges we've held in the past, participation in this is entirely voluntary and has no reward as part of it. The challenge? You've no doubt seen the pictures of the new two part Encounter Set by now...you may even have picked it up. This challenge is to write an adventure encounter (scenerio, scene) using the Hilltop Encounter set. The rules? 1) All entries must be submitted to our official Encounter Challenge editor, Bob Cooper (bobmcooper AT msn.com). Entries should ideally be in either PDF or Word format, but even plain text submissions will be accepted. Please be sure to include a title, your board name (and real name if you like), the system for which the encounter is written, and any relevant "parameters" to the encounter (appropriate levels of characters, specific setting information, points values of forces, etc.) PLEASE include "Encounter Challenge" in the header of your email when you send it in. 2) Any game system is permissable for submitting Encounters, so long as your entry follows that company's rules for creating an encounter/scenerio. For example, if you were to write a D&D encounter, your entry must comply with the D20 SRD. 3) Entries must be received by December 15th, 2005 (midnight). 4) All (reasonable) entries will be collected, edited, and combined into a single "Hilltop Encounter" .PDF, which will be made available through the WorldWorks store in a manner similar to that of kitbashes. The WorldWorks staff reserves the right to exclude any entry from the compliation (due to language, license issues as per rule #2 above, etc.) 5) Your encounter can include bits from other WorldWorks sets, but it is recommended that these be kept to a minimum and/or be made optional so that the maximum number of players can make use of it. Questions? Ask away! |

If time is the concern, I really don't want to see this die off because of it. Deadline extended to Dec. 31st, midnight. Everyone with an entry in already (yes, one of you) can work it over some more if desired. Guys, this isn't a full-blown module here. You don't need to spend days working on it. Just a scenario...basic...couple of pages. |
