A list in the product listing would be helpful as the buyer could make a judgement on how much work would have to go into it.

On the other hand, a listing shortly before release would allow those that know they are buying the adventure to get a head start on gathering/building those pieces. I wouldn't expect to see any set specific pieces in this list as it might give too much of the adventure away.

Personally, I liked the listing of pieces at the end of the instructions and used it as a check list for printing before I started building. If I had my druthers for the next adventure though, I'd like to see a basic list before release so I can get a jump on it.

That's a great idea. It would really help me decide if a new module is something I can have ready in a week or two because I already have a lot of the basic pieces constructed, or if I need to plan way ahead because I don't have any of them. And I really like the idea of as much advance notice as practical. Getting started on the base set pieces as soon as you know for sure what's really going to be needed for the module would be great so that I could plan ahead. Ideally when the module came out all I'd still have to build to play it would be the adventure-specific pieces.

Ideally, you'd want a part list for a *minimum* configuration, as well as the recommended one. Especially if entire sets wind up being optional for the minimum configuration.

For example, someone mentioned that some of teh pieces from one part of the mine could be reused in another - that would sure shrink down the minimal build significantly. Alternatively, perhaps SB itself contains enough material to do the build even without CaveWorks. I don't own SB nor CaveWorks, so I'm just throwing this out as a hypothetical. But I could imagine just laying down a set of 2D mine tracks without actually building the full CaveWorks corridors, for example...

Having a "minimal" build lowers the threshold for getting into the modules. Once you got them hooked on the cardstock, they'll probably want to buy the extra sets to do the "recommended" build anyway...

Well, at this point there aren't any plans to make the adventure releases self-contained...not even on a minimal level. The module is a suppliment to the base set the adventure's built from, not a full set in and of itself.

However, the suggestion of a basic "build list" is a good one. I'll toss it out in our designers forum and recommend it for all future modules, to follow soon after the official announcement of the base set(s) involved in each module.

I LOVE this idea, and I hope we're allowed to do it!

I think it'll help everyone get a really good feel for the scope of the adventure.

Hey guys:-love the site and the new RPG elements stemming from it.

I've read all the forums on Arcraetia so far, and I really appreciate how WorldWorks listens to its patrons, so I figured this silly thought was worth a shot.
Since with SB you were branching out into RPGs directly, and since Denny mentioned something a while back about the players filling in the current gaps in the overall storyline before other modules are released, how about a challenge? Why not allow aspiring writers (present company included) to send the module writers short stories of any sort from experiences of either playing SB or just from reading through it. Whether or not it gives the module folks any inspiration or additional material to build from, at least it should be worth a laugh.
Anyway...if this comes across as complete jibberish...that's either the Mocha or the Dew losing its effect. Back to studying for finals it is then....

I say post away! Even if they're not used, it could give the module writers (or DMs) ideas.

Just be sure to put a spoiler alert for any plot points that may be brought to light!

I'd check with Denny on this (and please forgive him if he's slow to respond, things are extremely busy in his end of the world right now). The last thing in the world we'd want to see is someone send in an idea very close to something an existing author has already been developing, only to see the author's work get published and the fan say "hey, that was my idea and I'm not even getting credit for it!"

It's a sticky topic, but I'm no expert on it...so I'll draw this thread to Denny's attention.

On another unrelated note...Polycarp, a couple months ago we had a "challenge" of sorts. When the Encounter Pack came out, I challenged WorldWorks fans to write a single encounter based on either one of the sets. Turnout was low, but the results have been posted as a "kitbash" file available for download.

Keep your eyes open for another similar challenge the next time WorldWorks releases an Encounter Pack.

Wow guys: thanks for everything

Honestly, the last thing I, or others interested, would want to do is to impede the progress of the forthcoming modules. Keep them coming! Seriously, I understand any concerns (and potential legal headaches) that could potentially arise from fan-based elaborations and stories in a fantasy world we did not create. In all honesty, I just thought the idea would be fun (and still could be in one form or another). I will wait for a verdict on this matter, then, and just enjoy all the wonderful stuff from this site (plus I have Castleworks Ultimate now to start on.... )

As for the encounter packs, sounds like something down my alley! It's really too bad I came too late for trying that challenge. Those kitbashes are next on my to-do list (after these finals, naturally), and I'll keep my eyes open for any possiblilities in the future.

Once again, what you guys are doing here with the site and SB is amazing. Thanks for keeping it about the fans!

Go ahead and post whetever ideas you have for the encounter sets. Might not be any prize in it for you, but I bet if they're good enough Bob Cooper could be persuaded to add them to the existing encounter kitbash. Or you can submit them yourself as a kitbash, for that matter.

Anyway...I'll be out of commission on tour for a few weeks, but when I get back I'll make sure to post my ideas and such (in the challenge section, naturally). I can't promise anything good, but it can't hurt. (and if it does, what the hey )

First of all...nice job on this module
I like it and it's a big step forward compared to the previous module "Eye of capilasis" or something.
I agree that the story may be a bit short but if I look at it personally...it's perfect for what I want to do with it
As I am in the process of building the Silver Mountain Mines, I would say it's not too big to put together and if future modules would become a bit bigger...no problem

As for the visual aspect of it...WOW, WOW and WOW. My kids love it and are all over it. When I am not home I've to hide everything in the closset and I'll probably will have to rebuild or repair some parts eventually
The standees are just great... I think this will be the first time I'll be using cardboard minis instead of my other minis. Espescially the skeleton snake gets a lot of loving.
