Just curious. As we start rolling out the adventures (slowly), is there any interest in adventures with a GM and only 1 or 2 PC's? High level, low level, or medium?

I voted for one player because I have a lot of trouble getting players but would have also voted for 2 players if I could have

I also voted for 1 player adventures. I have real issues getting a group together, so being able to adventure with one person can be really helpful.

I voted for 2 since there are always two of my gamers here, It would make it so much easier for me instead of converting them down to a two player mod.

I ask for future release plans, but I must confess I have a more solid ulterior motive.

After just over a year of working on the Arcraetia background for our writers, I am now working on an adventure. It is set in the crime infested, seedy streets and criminal underworld of Himmelveil, with rather nefarious PC's. Much of this adventure's pedigree owes to Thieves World, though by no means is it a rip off.

Nonetheless, the scenario works much better as a duo of PCs (though I can turn it into a group). Thus, I ask to you loyal WWGers for input.

How about level; low, medium, high? Don't care?

I voted for two players.

My group consists of 8 players but there have been times where it would've been really nice to just have an adventure modual so I could run a game with my wife and one other friend/fellow gamer of ours who isn't in our group (I had to draw the line at eight).

Tonight was actualy one of those nights.

Also, some of the fondest memories I have of gaming are from back in the 2nd edition days when there was just a few of us playing (DM + 2 PCs).

On top of that, there are tons of adventures written for 4 players. I've ran enough of them that converting for eight players has become second nature. However, trying to scale things down is a bit more of a challenge. Especially if its a one shot short notice game where I may not have much prep time.

On the subject of low, mid, or high, I think this sounds like more of a mid-level adventure. Mid level adventures are cool because you can jump right into them a lot easier than high level adventures, but the still provide a nice opposition (no fighting off rats ). It seems like a criminal underworld adventure is more suited for mid-level characters if you think about it; they're not off fighting dragons that threaten the entire world, they're taking out mob bosses that threaten local politics, ect.

Hmmm, I would actually have chosen 4+, my normal groups tend to be around six people, sometimes eight.

Low to mid levels are what I find most enjoyable, and it is easier to scale an adventure up than to scale it down.

Across the board as far as level. I'd like to see low, medium, high.

What I'd like to see for such small groups is more intrigue and not hack and slash. (Sort of a "who dunnit" mix).

Also, more Modern stuff. Fantasy is cool, but no-one does good Modern (at least that I have found).

Since Something Below was a hoot, figure that WWG would make some good modern stuff too.

I'm leaning towards mid level.

My writing forte is more modern adventures, particularly "who-dunnit" type "thrillers", so I'm more than happy to produce some modern and horror genres if there's interest. Chris is currently working on a Sci-Fi adventure.

Most excellent! Nothing beats a great mystery IMO. I say, don't sway from the thrillers one bit.

Yeah, I would LOVE to see some WWG compatible modern adventures, especially if they were easily convertable to Spycraft 2.0. Not to mention that I love pretty much all thrillers, and being set in modern would only make it that much cooler...

Sounds awesome. I'll definitely be looking down that road once I've fininshed my Himmelveil adventure. Incidently, that adventure is STRONGLY written on the thriller end, so you might like it; with (currently projected) only 2 PC's involved, there will be less hack-and-slash and more mystery/investigation by a pair of ne'er-do-well and somewhat nefarious PC's (a sort of evil vs. evil or the "lesser of two evils" approach). But there will also be some good action as well.

Eagerly awaiting it. There honestly isn't enough published material that aims for anyone but the "crusaders of good" party. Most parties I've played in (or heard of) are actually more toward the neutral-evil side, only watching out for their own backside.

Hmm, I'd love to see some modern adventures, I've not picked up any of the Arcreatia stuff because I feel pretty burned out on fantasy... I just hit this point where every fantasy book or adventure or film just seems like I've read it before.

Let me second that. I have a BIG and one of her friends who would really enjoy this kind of adventure.

Ya know, I haven't run for less than three in a LOOOONG time (1e AD&D) but there are occasions when there are only 3 of us around. We usually do board games, but an adventure like that might be kinda cool. I run grim fantasy (HUGE WHFRP fan) so something along the lines of Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser or Thieves World would be really neat. I'm guessing Himmelveil will be very Sanctuary-esque? As long as it comes out in a non-d20 format I'll buy it.
