Hypothetical:
I'm writing a scenario for an FRPG. The rule set in question includes rules for miniatures in combat but these are optional rules, part of a combat expansion for the game. Most players choose to stick to the Core system with its abstract resolution of combat but the vocal minority are very passionate about their use of miniatures.
My scenario is geared towards abstract resolution of combat as that satisfies the majority of players. As a result there aren't incredibly detailed descriptions and layouts for encounter locations. However, being a WWG fan I want to include an appendix that details WWG product setups for each of the encounter locations for those players who do use miniatures. I don't want to include the models I just want to point to the appropriate models in the appropriate WWG products.
How then do I standardise these references to WWG products?
Following on from this, let's say I think that the Harbourmaster building is the perfect location for one of my main NPCs. He's not a harbourmaster but the house is perfect. So I want to retain the layout but I will describe things differently. What is acceptable use as far as WWG is concerned? Can I include photos of my Harbourmaster build to use in describing the various rooms of the building? Can I use the original layout in my product? Where's the line on what can and can't be used?
