| Post subject: | Something Below Permanent or not? |
Hey gang, I was about to start building my Something Below set this week, and before I got started I just wanted to drop in and ask it it is meant to be built as a permanent set, or not attach anything to the masterboard? If it is the second one, is it sturdy enough to play or will we constantly be replacing the terrain on the table? How should it be secured in a way that keeps it removable and reusable? |

It is a combnation of both. The sewers are modular while the 'dungeon' layout is (in my opinion) best built as a static layout. |

I can't answer mupchurch's question because I haven't built the module but I can say Pelthar you are thinking of Missing Persons. Something Below is the module that takes place in the mines and uses Caveworks as the base set. |

It's not a bad generic "set of caves" for using in other scenarios/situations, but if you're lacking for storage or want greater reusability, I recommend using a combination of the clip-it system and stickytack to make it more portable. You'll be pleased to know that the second adventure, Missing Persons, uses a much more modular approach to many of the encounter areas. |

By the way, just a quick aside, I just think it is great that when you ask a question here, most of the time you will get the actual designers of the sets personally responding. It is one of the things that makes World Works a great company. In other news the double sided 'removable' tape seems to be working extremely well on the coridoors and floor tiles. Since I have taped pennies to the risers, I'm fairly confident that won't get bumped around once placed. Long story short it looks like I'm going to get to have my cake and eat it as well. A sturdy, but temporary built, that can be re arranged for other cave settings. Many thanks. |

What kind of removable tape are you using? I'm using Scotch brand, and its hold is lacking. Anything bigger than props seems to pop off with even slight touches. |

Yes, I am using Scotch brand removable double sided tape and it is working great. I've got it sitting up sideways on the wall right now and I just went and tapped it with my hand and it is holding up quite well. Perhaps you got a bum stick? |

Maybe so, but what I got is almost useless. I use rubber cement for anything that needs to be a little sturdy. It works but it can be too strong, and its always tedious to clean up after I take apart the layout. I was looking for post-it glue sticks but I never found anything like that. |
