This place is meant to be a place to discuss things related to this game (not limited only to people actually in the game). This could range from scheduling discussion, critique of sessions, speculation of plot, etc. I would love if people would begin by introducing themselves and giving an idea of what you might expect out of this game. I will attempt to update this thread with relevant links and other important information. Campaign Overview: Work in progress that is somewhat dependent on the players backgrounds and whatnot. The VERY quick rundown is that the Sharn Watch is rather corrupt and you guys are going to be the ones to help out with that. Meanwhile, there is a big gang war brewing between the Boromar Clan (think halfling mafia with dinosaur mounts) and Daask (the new ruthless thugs not playing by any real rules). First session in only a matter of hours. Everyone planning on showing up? It would be awesome if everyone had completed characters as well as an image to use for the game (or at least an idea so I can find one for you). |

(Grammar and language are intentional and in character) Journal of a Changeling Lin So, there I am the other night, walking home from another meeting with those people with the wizard -he's an ok guy, I guess, one of those smart types, asks too many questions in my humble little opinion. Anyways, there I am, in the rain, when up ahead we see this huge someone standing over another someone who's lying on the ground not moving. We (me and the wizard) run up to see what's what. Maybe I aint the straightest arrow you ever meet, but I won't just leave a someone lying in the gutter. Aint decent. Anyways, before we get to the someones, the big someone ups and jumps over the edge of the bridge. I rush to the ledge and look over, but there ain't nothing there but the darkness and the rain falling into it. The wizard checks the someone on the ground, and he (the someone on the ground, not the wizard) is as dead as dead can get. Still warm though, so that leaves little question as to what the big someone was doing. Anyways, there's a package in the deadman's hands. We don't have time to see what it was, though, cause just them the someone jumps back around on top. Turns out the big someone was one of those metalmen, or woman, from the look of it, and she wants that package something fierce. Before I could get my feet under me she hits me, and HARD. I bout died on the spot, the blow was so fierce. If I wasn't as quick as I am, and she'd got her way, it'd be two bodies up on the bridge, for sure. I knew I couldn't get hit again, but I'm a bit spiteful about things like that. You know, here I am, in the pooring rain, minding my own business and trying to be a decent someone, and this walking clunker just goes and tries to do me in for just standing there. So on my way out I make a point of nabbing that little package. I don't see what happened to the wizard, but as I mentioned he's a smart type, so I'm sure he's gonna find a way out. A little later we meet up again. We check out the package and it's some kind of book. Aint got nothing in the pages, but the wizard thinks there's something to it and I do, too. People don't get dead over empty books, and that's a fact. Anyways, word comes around that someones saw us around the body and the gaurd wants to know whats what. As I aint got nothing to do with the killing, and niether does the wizard, we head on over to talk it out. Don't want the gaurd looking to close at me if I can help it. The someone in charge is a tired looking dwarf. We tell him all about that female scrap heap. I make sure they know about the grevious pains I took to try to stop the baddie. We keep our mouths shut about the book. The dwarf believes us. On our way out again a someone comes up to us, looking all important for this part of the city and says we can find out more about the book if we go to a certain tavern at a certain time. I think the wizard fellow can go get his learning done, but as for me, one someone has already been killed over this book, and I almost joined him. I'm going to take a nap. Mr. Green While Lin took a nap, I decided to follow the wizard fellow to his little meeting. I knew the time and the place, so I just made sure to be there. I'm a new face, to be sure, so I was sure the wizard and no one else would know me from any other drunk. When I got to the place, I saw the wizard in a booth talking the a rich looking lady. I siddled my way over there and listened in, being careful to not get seen. The lady said she belonged to a dragon house, the one who owned the book, and that the book would show the way to some family heirloom. I don't know much about the politics of the houses, except to stay out of them, but the lady did mention a reward. She said she needed the book, and she could get it to tell us where to go. I mosied out before I got noticed, and decided to head back to Lin's place. Lin I like how no one noticed Mr. Green. Truth, I like the someone himself. Classy drunk, he is. I think I'll keep him around, maybe even let him out when I don't have eavesdropping to do. Anyways, the wizards comes back, and he's all we need the book and there's money involved, blah blah blah, and since Mr. Green got a good look at the lady anyways, I decide to go with. We show the lady the book, she does a thing with the seal, and bam, map and directions through the sewers. Now, I don't mind the sewers, they make a good spot to lay low. I'm impressed the oh so learned wizard isn't turning up his nose at it. Anyways, we rustle up some someones to help- a dwarf wizard who knows the other one, and a runepriest who happens to be another of those metalmen. He's alright though, handy in a pinch, and I want him around to get hit instead of me. The four of us head down into the sewers. No sooner are we in when another of those scrap heaps decides to attack us. Is the city crawling with them or what now? Anyways, we manage to fight him off and kill his two shifter friends, but he got away for a bit. We follow and find him again. This time, he's done for. Some kind of light gets off him as he dies. The runepriest says it's a recording, last thing he saw before he died. Well, shit. Looks like when this is all done, I'll be laying low for a while. I guess Mr. Green will have some more time out and about than I thought. Anyways, we found a tunnel down. It's tight, but I go first to see where it goes. The others will follow. I just hope we find this heirloom soon. I forgot how much it stinks down here. |

I just saw this write up and will hopefully get a chance to read it before we play tonight. Thanks for doing it. See you guys in a few hours. *Edit: After looking things over, this writeup is great. I like how the character(s) come(s) to life in it. It is always nice to read these as they help give a feel for what the players are getting out of the campaign. Can't wait to read the next one (this time Sam volunteered). |

I enjoyed the second session, albeit short. I used some time after the session to add some images to your character sheets. Feel free to change them. I just thought it might prove useful for reference to have images. |

The sarge stopped by for some tea the other day, supposedly wanting to catch up on things, "haven't seen you in a while" and all. Turns out what he really wanted me to do was track down and help this pair, said they'd been witness to a murder, and that the whole thing stank. He said this all quite casually, as if he was just talking about what was going on, making no mention of what he wanted me to do, but I know the sarge. Bastard. I smiled and waved and stewed a bit, and then of course I had to go out and do a follow up. Turned out that yeah, there's more to it. Something a book, and House Cannith is involved. Mighty interesting, I thought, the sarge would love to hear about this, wouldn't he? Yeah well then he should've actually asked me to. We trekked down into the sewers. I got sidetracked in the streets while the others had a great time fighting these shifters, but we regrouped just outside the way down. Apparently the warforged had to stay back to deal with another warforged... corpse? Whatever. Something about a "recording," or some other bizarre magic mumbo-jumbo. We went down, finding our way to this big, really old chamber, with some incredible ruins. Very old, crumbling into little bits, that sort of thing. We clamber down into the chamber. One of them, the human girl, did this sweet flip onto the floor. We just stand there, taking in the place. Then we notice there's chittering, like bugs. I must've thought it was just water at first, or it went from quiet to loud all subtle-like, because by the time I realized what it is the bugs were already swarming out. I've heard there are these bugs in the King's forest, like overgrown stag beetles, big pincers and all that, the size of a dagger or a foot or something. Real beastly. Well, apparently it was a swarm of those, and they came straight towards me. I'm not really afraid of bugs. I don't even mind them, really, although mosquitoes can be a real pain. The other girl, she wasn't having any of it, leapt right back up onto the cave we came in on, but me? I'm fine with bugs. But that's because bugs usually don't come at you in a massive sheet on the ground. Horrible things, all chittering, skittering around. Makes my skin crawl. Or, more accurately, they were crawling all over my skin, up into my boots and over my legs. Blech. So I shift over a bit, do a little of the stabby-stab, couple of sweeps with my sword, trying to keep them contained and in one place. The dwarf guy says something, and then there's this explosion of lightning and hot ash billowing over the bugs. I hear something else from the other wizard guy, and then this rolling wave of thunder sweeps over me and sweeps all the bugs forward, into the ruins. Probably a good thing, meant I wasn't standing in them. Human girl comes up behind me, skewering a real big one with a dagger. I charge forward, sweeping them up and keeping them all rustled and scattered, little creepy legs waving in the air. Some are still in my greaves, biting and scratching away, some of them having crawled up around under the scale, trapped in the quilting. Not fun at all. The two wizards keep moving around, blasting the bugs with all sorts of magic, and the girl and me skewering the little creeps. Eventually, wizard guy sweeps them away with one last blast of thunder, and the last ones scatter into the rubble. So then we have a sit down while I pick out the dead shells from my armor (not fun). The dwarf starts shifting through rubble, although I had no idea what he was searching for. Rocks? Dwarves like rocks, right? I mean you can get rocks pretty easily in most places, so I don't know what he was... well, anyway, he's searching, and I start scouting around. It's a big chamber, real big, the kind you then stick buildings in, although of course by now everything's crumbled. No clue what it used to be. We work our way around, the others off on their own having a look around, and then we simultaneously come across these two massive, horrible rats. I mean horrible, filthy things, with armored plating and a spiky knobby tail and acid shit dripping out of their mouths and... eugh. So, of course, I charge forward, grabbing hold of the one and blocking the other one from advancing on the dwarf, so they'd both focus on me. Of course, that means they do focus on me, and start biting away. I'm real glad I had my scale on, those were some fierce bites. They keep circling, so I've got to constantly keep my guard up on both, which doesn't work well at all. Stab one, punch the other, wear them down, with the dwarf contributing a bit of his magic. One of them actually manages to bite through, in the soft spot just under my knee. Gave him a stab for the trouble, right in the neck, and the other one followed. We regroup, and look at this building, one that's a lot less crumbly. I'm smarting from the bite, whatever was in that thing's saliva was not the nicest of concoctions, and it doesn't help that it's mixing with little beetle bits, but I figure we should get inside this building, see what's what. The dwarf is doing... something, with the rat body, poking at it and pulling on the armor, which is certainly interesting, but after a bit he joins me at the opening of the building. He's got an eye for stone, looks at the sides of what's apparently a temple, and says he can see faint symbols of Onatar. Well that's pretty nice, Onatar's a good sort. We go inside, and the dwarf starts sifting through the rubble again. I join in, since I figure this is the most likely spot to have something of worth. The other two show up, saying they heard the commotion, and we explain it was just some rats. They nod, and start looking through the rubble too. Seems like this thing used to have a roof (although I've got no idea what the point of roofs are when you're underground in a cave), so it's pretty hard going, but eventually the dwarf finds this basin. He calls it a font. I thought it looked like a washbasin, but whatever. We'd noticed there weren't bugs or anything crawling around, which was nice. Probably residual blessings of the god. So, when he waved me over and showed me the, uh, font, and I saw it had some liquid in it that was still clear and fresh-smelling and not filthy, I figured it had to be the good sort of liquid you find in random underground caves, and not the much more common bad sort of liquid. So, I took a nice deep drink, and what else happened but the wound on my leg cleared right up! Still felt sore, but whatever, was pretty nice of the god in question. The other wizard came over and took a drink as well, for a wound he was apparently carrying around since the fight with the shifters. The dwarf poured out his waterskin and filled it with some of the stuff, and I did the same, although I gave it to that girl who probably would get more out of it than me. So I stretch, feeling pretty good and refreshed, and we go out into the chamber to scope out the last bits. Everything else is mostly crumbling (except for this big supporting pillar in the middle), until we come across this last building in the corner. Well, it's mostly uncrumbled, still standing, and it's even got its door still. In fact, it's got adamantium doors. Immediately I start thinking we should bring them back up for scrap, but I figure it'll be a pain to haul through the sewers and everything. Then I realize that means we might have a heck of a time getting in. The dwarf mumbles something, and it turns out the big symbol plastered on the doors is the same one that's on the cover of the book. I walk around the building, looking it over, and notice that the roof is crumbling in on the north side. I figure I can climb up and inside. So, we all gather up, and discuss what we're going to do, since it's probably important that we found this and that the symbols match up like that. Pretty interesting, gotta say. |

Looks like enough people aren't around. I will figure out the next game day and post something on the forums. In the meantime, I am going to go set up the new tank for my snake and then play some games on Steam. Feel free to message me their (wdf.SeattleMan for those that don't know) |
