Hello, I'm a semi-retired WH40k player. [Semi-Retired cause everyone I can play against are too scared to face me on the battlefield, word of advice: Having a no loss record is not worth losing opponents to play against so take a dive every once in a while if you are like me] Sorry, got sidetracked there for a bit. Anyways one thing I absolutely hated about 40K was the terrain. Not its quality but its sheer lack of variety. A few half collapsed walls and craters is really all it has to offer. A real disappointment compared to the vast variety and opportunities of its other components. It's cost is also staggering. I don't want to have to choose between expanding my army or having nice terrain. So I turned to papercraft terrain. Quick, easy, fun, and surprisingly sturdy! Plus really cheap and even free (for the pdf's that is) in a few cases! I browsed the web for awhile and came across this site. At first I thought "11 dollars for a pdf file!?!? No thx!" and moved on without looking at its content. Several years later I have a few "Shoebox" buildings and decorative pieces. I was still lacking in something I REALLY wanted though, several in fact: Uniformity in size and style, and floor scenery like roads and such. A door on this building was too big and on another too small, one was kinda cartoony in graphics and another realistic, ect. Plus it didn't have as much modularity as I wanted. I came back to the site and said "Still nah!" and left once again. That was until I met with my friend. We share most terrain between us and recently he has gotten a lot of products from your catalog. Things from the vault, terrainlinx, ect. Evidently he saw a showcase or something somewhere that impressed him. He showed me the content of the files and I instantly fell in love. We haven't gotten around to building anything yet as I am currently out of ink and i'm the only one with a printer between the two of us so currently the files are sitting idle on my computer for the time-being. Even so, I still have opinions on many of the items. I for one always have to have interiors accessible so the SwiftScenics weren't my cup of tea, though they all look great so I'll probably add a few to my collection. The "vault" collections are all really fantastic aesthetically. Many of these will find permanent homes in my collection, especially the ship-based versions such as Shadow Core Prime. My favorite is the terrainlinx packs though, their complete and total modularity is what I was looking for! I am wondering if you will ever update the original "vault packs" to have terrain links compatibility? Or release compatibility packs that just add whats missing as separate packs. It would definitely boost the sales of the vault packs.

Great first post!
I think when you get into paper terrain, you have to keep an open mind and be prepared for a little bit of learning along the way. Some bits are easier to make than others. The best advice I can give is to start small, and to edge your pieces before gluing. Oh, and feel free to ask questions!
I'm a TLX junkie myself, though I'll admit I haven't been building/using a lot of my stuff lately. The opportunities come and go, and right now I'm in a 'gone' period. Something to keep in mind is that for personal use, you can do all sorts of things to the sets. For starters, if you want interiors for SwiftScenics stuff, you can always drop in floorplans and not worry about wall interiors. If it's something you're interested in, drop me a PM and I can give you some ideas that might work well for you. For pre-TLX stuff, there are a couple options. You can build it as-is. The stuff still works great. It's just harder to store. Another alternative I think is to build some simple walls out of the things, and use hair pins or paper clips to hold things in place. That may take some modification to get done, but it's a simple idea. Converting to TLX can range from easy and crazy challenging and time consuming. I'm speaking from a lot of experience.
Keep us posted on your progress, and any questions you have along the way. We're here to help!
Yeah, I found out how much ink these things eat the hard way! Brand new cartriges emptied on nothing but two stories worth of floor tiles! So I grabbed $40 and went down to Staples or some similar store and printed the rest, walls and props and such, on regular paper. Im going to paste it onto cardstock later. Gonna find out if that was a bright idea or not. Hopefully it would strengthen it in the end. Unfortunately, the Inn of the Fiesty Friar, the project im working on, will have to be put onto the back burner until I get settled into my new job and get that balanced with my college. Yay! Work work work. At least i'll have cash to blow on the few terrain sets my group is missing when it's all said and done!

Yeah there are three others in our group and evidently they had many WWG products. Many of our favorite terrain pieces were actually WWG pieces. Since then situations have elected me as the grand collecter of all our files and the sole producer of terrain. :3 Tough I lack ink and time to really get anything done for awhile. Oh well!
