Hmmm, the new by Pendragon looks very good, at least to my steam addled eyes. (The top trailer.) A War of the Worlds set would be interesting, the Martian tripods striding through World Works London, their heat casters playing death upon the people fleeing...And admit it, haven't you ever wanted to blow up Big Ben or the Tower Bridge?

Rules wise... I would say Gaslight sounds good.

Soldier's Companion from Space: 1889 would also work. (Most evil initiative system I ever encountered - Both sides roll initiative, adding bonuses for troop quality, then the winner moves and fires. Then both sides roll for initiative again... Crack troops can roll right over green or irregular troops, but in most scenarios are grossly outnumbered.)

Or, if you are like me and run OGL Steampunk you can sit down and create the Walkers, then transfer the game to the Open Mass Combat System for the big battles.

And I like the image of the Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Westminister, and Buckingham Palace in World Works... 'Course, some may wonder why a voice from the walker, instead of going 'Hruu, hruuu' is going 'Aye! Take that in the haid ye hurlie!' but these mysteries are best left unexplored.

It is an interesting suggestion to make models of actual landmark-like buildings... Turn-of-the-century Europe would be excellent for my Swashbuckling Adventues campaign, since the world is based on Earth.... Hmmmm, Denny?

It woulld be very cool to watch Big Ben end up on the table like it did in the trailer. Me thinks that this would make a great table top adventure, and using 19thC buildings with could double for Jack the Ripper hunting!.

I have to admit that I was astonished by the version in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - it was obvious that the authors had read the book! Now if only the nitwits who did the movie LoEG would do the same before doing a second one.
