Jeez! People have known that it is coming out since September, and I have only just found out about it? Sheesh!

The old cover was Cannery...the new cover is not, since Cannery isn't in the new set.

For that matter, there are no crushers at all in the newly-released version of the game.

The set comes with four double-sided boards. Four of the old set boards are reprised (all on different boards): Maelstrom, Exchange, Cross and Island. If you have the original set, you can use all four new boards and reuse your old ones to get the opposite-side boards.

Different sculpts on the (now plastic) bots...which have really obvious direction arrows now. As well, the box now contains "nicer" counters for everything, a "shut down" counter, and a bit of card (12x5) for each bot with spaces for everything...your life counters, a place for your "shut down" marker to designate it, spaces for your damage counters as you take damage, and a slot to place each of your five registers in...with lines drawn from the lock-register damage counters to the registers they lock. It's handy, and much clearer for newbies.

Some modest rules changes...all easily learnable, but not all will be popular with everybody. A "starting spot" board (5x12) is new, and has 8 different start points for the 8 different bots (draw cards, highest priority gets #1 position, #2, etc.). Thus, virtual robots have been done away with entirely.

Double wrenches now repair 1 and give an option, so no choices there.

I'm spacing on the other changes, but the biggest one is this. The game now also includes a 30 second timer. When the second-to-last player finishes their program, the timer is started. The last player has until the timer runs out to get their program down, or else they last cards get dealt at random.
