Please use this thread to help me better define what you would like to see evolve out of this genre of model set. You are more than welcome to start your own threads in this topic as well if you have an idea that deserves its own spot

I may not answer all of the posts in this section but trust me...Im watching it very closely.

You could go a couple of ways with a horror pack.  Maybe some "haunted house" style interiors like the fantasy stuff you've done, or maybe a secret research facility or army base?

Hmmm...  
1. Definitely some interiors of Victorian/modern buildings.  One room has to have the requisite arcane symbol on the floor, of course.  
2. Don't forget the library.  
3. Some outdoor things could include a generic cemetary with headstones.  If you swing it right, you could even use the cemetary for medieval sets.  
4. Zombies.  Everyone loves zombies.  And some cultists.  With a High Priest.  Pointy hat.
5. Props could include sarcophagi, altars (with and without sacrificial virgin), idols, statues, some type of 'swinging book case' to hide the secret passage, that kind of thing.
6. Did I mention zombies?

Interiors would be good, but let's not forget Gothic style EXTERIORS, complete with stone gargoyles, lion's heads and things. Perhaps a modular gothic 'mansion' that could be expanded by adding more sections.

Definitely forbidding stone walls done in a darker stone finish, almost 'rainy' look - I just feel that Horror should have a gloomy look to it.

With interiors, Victorian style furniture would be good, even 'shrouded', or sheet-covered items would look cool for an abandoned house thing. BIG bookcases, stone fireplaces etc; perhaps just adapting some of the already existing interior pieces.

Maybe some exteriors like haunted isles (Raveloft settings come to mind) with decadent vegetation. A dark river would look cool also (Charon's boat is optional )

Someone had mentioned graveyards in another thread, a good idea for here as well I think.

A variety of 'grey stone' blocks that can be stacked to form a variety of stones would be handy, with the basic slab type headstone as well.

It would probably be more difficult to protect your graphics, but if you could put the headstone templates in word format then people could put their own epithets (is that spelled right?) on the stones. Just a thought.

Heh... epitaph if you liked the deceased; epithet if you didn't.  ;)

You could always just use a blank headstone and a fine nib pen to WRITE your own text. Terribly old fashioned I know but it still works  :)

Luthyr has the right idea. I wold love to see the interiors and possibly a village works style dunwich/arkham seting. Also, what about old run down cotton mills, docks, factories.... Some of these may even be able to spill into the modern/sci fi sets.

Sewers fore the Cthulu stuff would also be cool.  Maybe some Warf areas (like in New Orleans and London).  Another thing for the horror setting could be a jungle camp, or perhaps an Antartic camp or Ice station (like in The Thing or Beyond the Mt. Of Madness).  ANd of course, a nice huge fancy cruise ship!

Zeppelins and biplanes!  ;D

I needed some to flesh out (so to speak some VillageWorks stuff I was putting together, but the suggestion really belongs here I guess.

I've been going through Chaosium's Escape from Innsmouth module for ideas of horror buildings.

General architectural style: New England, but with a very decrepit look. Lots of brick buildings, but also some older wooden buildings. Some buildings may be a gothic dark grey stone, too. The buildings should look like they are either falling apart or have been neglected for a long time.

Types of buildings:
- cult meeting place (Esoteric Order of Dagon is an old Masonic temple, with the Masonic symbol ripped out)
- mad scientist lab/building (the Marsh Refining Company comes to mind)
- church, such as an old wood frame church with steeple and attached small grave yard
- haunted mansion (the Marsh mansion is a big place with multiple wings, but also something like the Adams Family house would be very much in keeping with the system)
- cult "hiding places" such as an old warehouse. In fact, a warehouse is a must!
- commercial town area: bank, shops, a jail, and a hotel. You need a Gilman Hotel (hotel owned by Deep One hybrids).
- town square buildings, such as a city hall
- town square add-ons. Not sure how or if you could do this, but an old statue in the middle of the town square or traffic circle would be cool.
- a speakeasy. A small shop with an area in the upstairs or back to be used as a Prohibition era speakeasy, or a cult hideout.
- residential area: an old brownstone, but also individual homes. You need something for some "back wood" scenarios. The back woods homes would be delapidated wooden structures.

One idea I had was for a "straight" version of the buildings and a "corrupted" version. The straight version would be the exact same "structure", but the art would look different. There would be moss or vines on the building, or some wooden siding planks would be falling off. A "straight" shop would look like a regular two storey store, but the "corrupt" version would have broken windows, or a sign falling off, and/or the windows boarded up.

For the shops, I have an O gauge building that looks like what I was thinking about. It's a two-storey store with a bay window and an entrance door on the lower level, and a couple of windows on the top level (where the owners live, or rented out as apartments). It comes with multiple signs so that the same building could be used for different shops: hardware store, coffee place, restaurant, toy store, etc.

I hope all these ideas help.

Arkham Asylum, Dunwich, Innsmouth, Deep Ones, Graveyards, Ghouls, The Shunned House, Mad Raving Cultists, Dark Twisted Trees, Huge Seething Masses Full of Eyes and Mouths...Whew, I'm tired of running...

what i would think would be interesting is a couple types of scenarious where your in a livngi cave. Yeah, you heard me, a cave where the entire cave is living, like babies, eye balls, stomchs, lower inappropriate organs i cant say on this forum. Lots of inner organs, just the nasty to the maxy.

Definetly something with Zombies in mind would be great. A mad scientists castle/lab, a haunted house, a Vampires crypt, hmmmm....

I'd like to see a Victorian era set with those trappings and architecture. Gaslamps and cobblestone. Maybe a Villageworks 2: Victorian London or something.

I'm totally thinking of Castlevania visual themes. A couple other things popped into my mind, but shiny gothic vampire goodness sticks out for me.

-Lion's head wall fountain, really large
-Walk-in freezer replete with gore and hanging meat
-Fancy wrought-iron fence
-Braziers that stand on their own
-Mythic head motifs that you can tack onto walls (like the Green Man decor of some old castles, but creepier)
-Wrought-iron lamppost
-Rose trellis, blooming and wilting
-Walls with spooky bas-releif
-Spiderweb-choked attic
