I'm currently not running a Modern, or even near-term SciFi game ... but like so many other sets, I'm going to build this anyways.
Looks great, Denny. Keep up the phenomenal work.

I was initially thinking, "Hey, why do I need a modern set?" Then I remembered two words, and I think they'll have some resonance for you, too, Robby: Necessary Evil.
I've already run a couple of games of this fantastic Savage Setting, and my players are simply chomping at the bit to play more.
I need to find some decent superhero models, though.

Heh, I'm going to buy it too, but it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo far down my building list, it's sad !

Yeah, I thought about that. Happily, the first time through, I'm not running Necessary Evil. Someone else is - and he's remote, so he'll be running with 2D maps over Klooge, most likely.
I, however, am preparing right now to run an Evernight game, and I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to that. I ordered a bunch of extra minis, and I'm plotting out various different 2D and 3D encounters as I read through the Acts and Scenes.
But like I said, I'm building this bad boy anyways, whether I've got a game to run with it or not. Looks too cool not to build, you know? And I can always use some of it for Zombie Run.

Oooh... I'm playing Evernight right now, and it's a blast.
Tip: looks like one of the most useful sets for this would be CaveWorks.
(Sorry for the OT...)

Wowee!
Is it Christmas again already?
It must be, because this is *exactly* what I asked Santa for!
I'll never use my "official" HeroClix maps again!
How high up can the buildings go, Denny?

This would be a good time to explain a little more about the first release for UrbanMayhem. "UrbanMayhem: The Streets of Mayhem" is a foundation starter set and focuses on modular city street and public transport building elements. This mix of 2-D & 3-D items will lay the foundation for future building expansions. 2-D tile lovers beware! WorldWorks has our eye on the 2-D tile crowd as well and we plan on drawing them in with the amazing 2-D tiles in this set mixed with 3-D elements. We’ll get them over to the 3-D world one way or the other and show them what they’ve been missing
There are no “buildings” included in this first release…take a deep breath before you scream bloody murder. Buildings are soon to follow in the next set and I have some incredibly fun plans for that release. This begins the new workflow philosophy that most major releases will now be following. Because the scope of what we are building now is so gargantuan we simply can’t include ever wish and desire out there in a single release. Nor could we create a set that huge in under a month and for a fair price. You are on a journey with us now and as we complete areas of interest we will get them out to you ASAP. That DOESN’T mean that we will be skimping on quantity or quality, it just means that there will be a tighter focus on individual areas.
I can tell you quite honestly that this first UrbanMayhem release has been just as challenging to create as any previous set but with greater attention to detail than ever before. If anything, future releases will be of a quality that goes far beyond previous releases and released in a more timely fashion.
That said, here’s another pic for you:

Wow! I'm totally impressed, and this isn't even a set I think I need.
*EDIT* Maybe I'll get it if the price is right, just to have the textures for my other kitbashing and Photoshopping needs. Of course, with no buildings, that's a vote against for now. But maybe a time-travel scenario, VW buildings with UM roads or something.
I dunno, I just like to buy Denny's stuff to help him out. But money doesn't grow on trees and until WWG comes out with "MoneyWorks" I have to portion out my $$ carefully.

Buildings? With a setting like that, who needs stinkin' buildings?
Very nice.

Ok, I think I can handle it.
Actually, it really isn't a big deal. I can very easily see my Imperial Guardsmen fighting it out in a railyard like in Necropolis.
Yeah, this is going to be way cool.

Looking very good for Necromunda. In that game elevated walkways with cover are to be feared. Plasma guns in particular can be nasty from on high. I have already let some Necromunda players know that this was coming, though at the time I thought that the first release included buildings. Oh well, given the progress shown it won't be a long wait.
Though I prefer Mordheim I do have a Cawdor gang. Leader: Earl Glammish MacDeath, thane of Cawdor, and king hereafter...) Sadly, no one got the joke. I found it amusing that the Cawdor photographed by GW used the colors of the MacBeth tartan, though not the plaid. (I have painted plaid - I can understand that choice completely...)

Those buildings look like Works in Progress. Note the same texture repeated on each side in that photo. And the fact that from the shape, they don't look like a completed square. Just the 2 sides. A facade, or a backdrop for the excellent pieces in the foreground.
____
Man does that railway system look like a beaut. And (hopefully) a nice easy set to assemble and put to play on the table top.
My SuperSystem figs are shaking in their case with anticipation.
-Floyd
ps. Toss in a (few) more Futuristic looking pieces & textures. And this will be perfect for UrbanWar, NecroMunda, and Rez(?)

Not to get too off topic... but anybody recognize what that big beast in the last picture Denny put up is? Most of the figures look like from HC - Indy. but i can't figure out what that thing is... ( i want to uhm get one and rip it off it's base for a big monster in another game...).

IIRC that's an Orc Warbeast from WizKids MageKnight game.

Yup it is... i had never seen one from the back or side just the picture of the front view on the webpage, but after a rotate yup that's it... cool MK stuff is usually cheaper to get on E-bay than HC... Need a slew to rip from their bases and use for general critters...
