I've been searching for somewhere in the UK that can supply foamcore (with the help of riddles [thanks riddles]) but can't seem to find anywhere. As I don't have my own transport I would rather order online in the UK. I've tried Hobbycraft and Staples online but neither seems to have it. Has anyone bought their foamcore from the UK (online or North East Teesside store)? Where? How? What price was it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Foamboard vs foamcore is just one of the many confusing definition changes applied from US to UK standards, another is lbs weight vs gsm rating given to paper and card.

its been a while since I purchased some card for modelling (work has kind of taken place of a social life the past couple years) but I use the above link to compare.

As a rule of thumb most stationary supply stores (staples, viking direct, WHS etc. generally only stock 80, 100, or 160 gsm paper and more commonly only stock coloured card of greater weight without specifying the gsm. In the past i have used 160 gsm for WWG models but found it insufficient, the models warp unless reinforced. What I plan to use for my TLinx models when I get round to building some will be at least 200gsm. The following link provides a good source for the heavier card.

That foamcore you linked is only 3mm thick...TLX uses 6mm thick (or thereabouts 7 or 8mm would be good too) So nope too thin. You could double it up, but that would be getting pretty expensive I think

My foamcore has arrived!! lots of it... now... what to build first...
