Just stumbled onto an old gaming site I used to frequent; and saw that nearly all their minis are half off or so. Seems any game that has either been discontinued or is lacking in sales is getting liquidated. Hope that doesn't bode poorly for the site...

I almost placed an order with them before, but if you check on TMP you will find many horror stories of dealing with this company. It was enough to make me avoid them. The prices look right, and if you have used them before... well, it's up to you. I personally will avoid them though.

Avoid them at all costs. I was one of the many people burned by them. Placed an order back july of 2003 for some warmachine stuffs, Rulebook, Cryx starter, Slayer, Iron Lich, and some Man-O-Wars for my brother. The Iron Lich, the Man-O-Wars, and the Slayer came about a few months later, the Rulebook a month or two after that, and I never recieved the Cryx starter. I tried contacting them about it but they never responded to emails. About a year later I tried again, and they responded saying that I have some credit on my account, and I just need to let them know what I wanted. I sent an email with what I wanted and never heard back from them :/

What they said: avoid them!

I placed an order with them years ago that took so long to get to me I forgot what the hell I ordered. The problem is that they don't have all their listed miniatures in stock so they end up having to order most of your items which causes a lot of mix-ups and unfulfilled orders.

I think the word of mouth in this case is a hugly powerful thing, like Kane I use to go there and look at all the pretties. I hadn't ordered anything for overseas at that stage.... Then I came across the horror stories, and they were everywhere! These days you don't come across them as much but ever so often you find a poor sod sitting in the corner rocking back and forth mouthing "They took my money, they took my money, the too my mon..."

Avoid like the plague - they will take your money and may or may not ever get you the miniatures that you order. It took over a year for me to get my money back from them, with them lying every step of the way. Their lies even included the classic 'the check is in the mail'. They lied that the manufacturer was out of stock (Grendel) I e-mailed Grendel who replied that no they were not out of stock, and that New Wave had not placed an order in over six months. And that I was not by any means the first to e-mail them about the problems. I forwarded that to New Wave, and another wave of excuses began.

On the subject of Fozzbozz... I was thinking of placing an order, but wanted to check on peopls experience with them. They stress that they are not the cheapest, but that they offer the best customer service and only charge actual packing and shipping costs. However, I look at ordering the stack of five miniture boxes (light as only cardboard and foam) which is $45.00 and the shipping (in the same state) is an extra $12.49. The seems a little high to me fo something so light...

I also was ripped off. Paypal is no help, my credit card company was no help. Since Nov. 04 I have been waiting for my syntha stuff....

I check the BBB and I google every online store I buy from now. The only way to be safe!

I've always had great experiences from The War Store. Haven't ordered from most of the other mentioned shops, but I'll be willing to give them a try!

I've used the Warstore and Discount hobbies with no problems, very good service and response from Discount Hobbies.

There is a store i am having an issue with now placed an order some weeks ago, and waited and waited for my shipment, got annoyed, and then started looking around on my charge card so i could post the relivent info, but so far my credit card hasn't been charged so not as annoyed about it so atleast i haven't been ripped off, but would like the stuff, sent them an e-mail over the weekend and waiting to hear back, before i go slamming them.

Often it depends on how you use PayPal. I always use a credit card on paypal, for the additional protection. But if you use a debit card or bank account, often you don't have the same protections.

Apropos of not much, but folks are still complaining about New Wave on The Miniatures Page, years after they have gone out of business....

Yeah, but seeing that complaint on a new post on TMP just amused the heck out of me. New Wave has become the yardstick for measuring bad customer service over there.
