I got fewer items this year but I am thankful for that as I really don't need the crap.

Though what I did recieve was great.

A new with modded ink feed system - totally unexpected from my dad. I have been using a very nice laser unit but .... I do like the inkjet finish over the laser - a more watercolour soft shade over a harder brighter colour with hardly any transition of shading. By this I mean laser has the punch of colour, the blacks are core and the reds are vibrant but textures don't blend correctly so when looked upon with a critical eye (mine) it looks more magazine print over artwork.

An electric tooth brush - which in the limited time I have used it has actually made a difference (not that my teeth are bad as such but the new brush has really brought them up to white)

A cheese board with glazed clay bowl and hardwooded hand knife.

Vouchers to bookstore (standard fair) & and one to a cooking supply store (very cool)

A good friend of mine that I have never met gave me and some exps. - this is an OOP game that is a classic card game.


Of course over the past couple of months I have been grabbing gaming crapolia left right and center... to the point where I am really looking at it all an feel a tad sick/embarrassed.

Battles of Westeros - got the figures mounted for painting... just tossing over white or black undercoat - thinking white due to more punch for gameboard pieces.


New Brushes - I actually grabbed The Army Painter range due to the fact it was on sale in the UK and that it cost me about $40odd (AUD which is ≥ than US atm) rather than the stores here of around $117. It was more due to the fact most of my brushes were all small detail buggers which are great but for larger areas (esp. inking) I was getting annoyed.

Ultramarines: The Movie. So it won't win awards but it's a foothold. Of course it's not as impressive now after the RTS games have been out for years with their cut scenes but it was nice to watch and good to have.

Got from a BGG sale. Saved about $60 off the list price for here. Now I don't know if I will ever get to play this but I might just crack it to paint it then look at flogging it off.

And just because they look sexy - the . End of the day I actually rather the trees done with cardstock due to the fact they they will get removed for gameplay most often than not so they are marker rather than static.


I guess as I am getting older I would rather my presents be more non-gaming due to the fact I usually just grab what I need through the year plus non-gaming gifts are better in lots a ways due to the nature that most likely I needed it but wouldn't have bought it due to wasting money on Gaming. That and again as I get older I am finding that computer based games are not a good present for me as I will not cherrish it more than a couple of days/weeks (I don't really do the whole multiplayer thing much.... people can really ruin a good game)
