Thanks! The texturing has come a long way since it was just a mod project. Thanks to Bob's and Denny's advice I was able to push these to the next level.

Looking good. As someone else said, the addition of an alternate faction will surely help promote the game to peers.

When is this fleet going to launch? It looks like it'll be terriffic. Hope to see it sometime this Summer .... early Summer, maybe???

Denny said in a different thread that a couple of big (and apparently positive) things are coming in the next month or two, but was reserved with details... It seems that a mysterious partner wants to keep things hush-hush for now. I think the partner is either Dick Grayson or the Flying Squirrel, but evidence is sketchy...

It is always dropped at the bottom of the priority list, which is a real shame. The intention to support Wormhole is there but not the resources obviously. That is why those players who develope kitbashes for it are so very important. Unfortunately their work is languishing as well. The guy in charge of it has an awful lot to do, lots of responsibilites and they all need his time and attention.

WWG will get it done. I don't know if it will be in my lifetime ... ::just kidding:: Keep the faith.

The WIP meter represents products which are closest to release relative to available resources and independent production schedules. Some products go from preproduction to postproduction extremely fast, while others take much longer (even if they are at a high percentage mark). A future iteration of the website will handle this aspect of things a bit differently to avoid confusion.

Verus is still in active production but other releases will likely make the finish line before it.

I want to chime in that this looks great.

Only if there where two fleets, to purchase a single fleet is not my cup of tea.

If this second race\fleet comes out it will be a dual purchase, nobrainer, but for now, I sit wait.

I must say, one of the reasons I bought the Sathricans when I did was that the progress bar on the front page was so far along on the second race, I thought I could convince my friends to play...but they won't, with just 6 ships to pick from. I bought it just after xmas of 2009...has any work at all been done on the second fleet since then?

I never thought I'd say I was disappointed in one of my purchases from you guys, but to see how many projects you've pushed out the door since then shows just how low a priority this seems to be...

I've all but given up on Wormhole too. A lot of time and effort went into the development of the game but the follow up just isn't there. WWG has its reasons to be sure but one thing they could do is license it to a company that can do something with it.

This was my biggest concern back when Wormhole came out at first.

WWG in my mind has always, first and formost a great "Works" company.
Long ago I made a post about the W W & G in World works games, how
For me WWG is great at the Works aspect.
They make awesome stuff that you can use in what ever game you want, few things are tied to any specific world or system and what is, has multiple versions for what ever world you are running,,. They make great building blocks for you to use in what ever it is you want to do.

Then they added some worlds, and even games.

The game mechanics behind Wormhole and a few other things are the biggest slow down likely in the whol process. I was planning on buying Wormhole, and kind of hopping (befor it came out) that it would be more of WWG works things.

Really cool 2.5-3D ships I could build myself and use in What ever game I wanted...

I have always just been interested in the ships (and since mel won't do them WWG is about the last chance i have for tons of ships).

I know this isn't what the wormhole as a game fans want to hear, but I'd jut be happy with a slew of small ship releases as I never cared for the game, and it is the major development snag and always has been iirc.

Yeah, I would be happy with just a bunch of ships I could use in Full Thrust or any space combat game. Not that WH is a bad game, but the paper starship minis are of more interest to me than the game. Oh, check your PMs Ghenghis_Ska - I sent you something you may be interested in.

This is an example of a good game that just didnt get the support it needed. 2 or more years between releases is just unacceptable.

not to mention if i recall correctly there were errors in the rulebook and reference cards that were never fixed. to me the great advantage of a digital meduim is the fixing of errors.

my advice to the designers. fix the rulebook, and reference cards, release the verus fleet, and try to come out with a small expansion even just one or two ships every couple months (even every 6 months). it keeps interest going for the game. you cant just throw out a game like wormhole that demands variety and let it stagnate for 2 years.

Valid concerns that echo discussions by WWG developers. As Bob has stated in other forum threads, you should be seeing some exciting things shortly.
The Verus release should make all kinds of warm, fuzzy happiness. Ships for the casual builder, CHECK! Solid gameplay, story, and backdrop for the diehard Wormhole gamer, CHECK! Ongoing development and support, CHECK!
No BS here. I really do think the Wormhole community is going to be very pleased with what is coming.

I will echo this.

I think it is kinda funny that I come back after several months and it still has yet to be released I was really expecting to have a pleasant suprise here.

Is there a release date set yet or is this going to be like how starcraft 2 is, where it took 10 years for it to come out, or worse yet like Duke Nukem For Ever, which will never come out.

I dont want to complain too much but it just seems like there has been no progress here. Or has there been some progress and I am just not seeing it?

It's really close - I would safely say in the realm of weeks if not day but not months.
