Ooh, you're right, I think that will scratch the itch for my 28mm fantasy wargames... Don't know how I missed that....
Although it would be cool to consider still for future TLX sets as appropriate (building and such, not dungeon walls). Maybe sell them as "kitbashes" as they're not the whole TLX set?
I still think you guys should whip up a couple packs of the smaller scale stuff though...the only thing I saw on rpgnow was a bunch of stuff for 6mm romans...looks weird to have my Chaos forces rampaging through it :p

Plus battletech stuff (other than the generic buildings FD put out)...as the other guy suggested, factories, mech bays, turrets, that kind of thing.

For that matter, my microarmor could use some terrain to...er, defend...If you wanted to do something modern...

Scour the various genres. Hinterlands and Mars Station come to mind, but there are other like a decent chunk of Mayhem sets. Make sure to watch out for sets that have been converted/updated to TLX. That obviously could throw things off for you.

Red sector is also a good set for scifi without real interiors. In fact there are some shell kitbashes for it already available.

I always though the outpost 105 megabash was made for 40K or other games like it.

@Wukong If I know figures are going to be inside, I don't mind interiors. but in ex illis, they just get classed as "obstacles" and nothing can move into that square...It's more convenient to have it as a solid building, so that pieces don't go missing at the gaming store.

Scaling down MarsStation might work for some BT buildings, but I'm really not feeling the Red Sector. judging by the pics, 105 appears to have been designed for Starship Troopers :p

It's not just a issue of scaling increasing fiddliness, I'm worried about how my printer will handle the textures...

Plus having pages set up that are x20 Castle walls x4 towers without me having to scream at photoshop for a couple hours would go a long way towards making the project more bearable :p

@Wukong, I've just printed out the first Titan tile sample - floor, mounts, posts and some 6" (sorry, 90mm) walls. Hopefully I'll get a photo posted this week. Trouble is I've not got any 15mm figures at the moment, so I'm looking at www.15mm.co.uk, see if I can get hold of some Laserburn goodies quickly.

I shall look forward to seeing your mini Titan build. Good luck with it. I have always had good service from 15mm.co.uk. The only problem has been the amount of flash on some of the Laserburn models. This seems to be a problem mainly with the vehicles but I do wonder if they should be making up new moulds for them now. I still have the Laserburn figures that I bought in the early eighties when they first came out too. I suppose I ought to get around to painting them soon!

OK. here goes.
Posts were done by cutting the fold-over away, so they're just single-thickness card apart from the tab. It's fiddly to put together, much more so than the full-size stuff, but you get so much more out of a sheet of card.
Finished 1 6x6 room (can't help thinking of it as 6x6, 3x3 etc. even if it's 90mmx90mm).




Bob the Crash-Test Dummy appears in the last picture to give an idea of scale.
I'll get some more bits and bobs done later in the week. I think there's a lot of mileage doing this in 15mm scale. Economy of printer ink, cheaper miniatures. If I can get my ham-fists to do what they need to do getting a 15mm cliff then I can build anything!

Looks like a good start. Can't wait to see the rest of the complex. My concern with rescaling TLinx was the difficulty of making some of the more fiddly bits. Looks like you have conquered that.

I'll take that under advisement. Going to do a few more bits today...

Right. The story so far.
6 3x3 tiles, 1 6x6 tile, 1 6x3, some posts and both 3 and 6 walls.
Scaling down to 15mm, the fiddliest thing of all is getting the posts onto the mounts on the board. The surface area that's glued down is only just enough to hold when you start folding bits up. I've tried, by way of an experiment, making the tabs single-thickness rather than double.
The miniatures are unpainted Laserburn figures, assorted.

Take pics of that for sure!
