I didn't expect the GM to require a ship, so I had no chance to fix all the smaller problems that popped up (or fell down ) in that year or so the Maiden decorated our stairwell...

I also have a maiden-sized sea-plate (comes with the the Maiden), but we decided not to use it for 2 reasons: a) We are a little short on space there, and the mat goes nicely under the character sheets. b) we had no viking boat miniature for our group to enter that ship from, so we used markers on the map to draw the outline.

The photos are from the GMs initial setup before the PC group steered into battle range. Sorry, no later shots, I was busy killing good guys. (Or are they bad guys because they started to invade the evil twin world unprovoked? My character surely thinks so!)

It's not a published module but based on the "Myrkgard" source book for the German "Midgard" RPG. We use Savage Worlds as a rule system for this campaign because those 2 systems share the same basic structure but SW has less realism. E.g. it allows to "magically" learn a skill when you gain a new level where Midgard requires you to find a teacher, pay him (in gold and XP), and spend time to train. Doesn't work quite well when you go behind enemy lines and want to stop an invasion...

About Myrkgard: Have you ever time travelled in a fantasy setup? Seems safe from paradox, doesn't it? Wrong! After traveling back in time by accident into the thick of the Sorcerers' Wars 800 years in the past, the heroes have to find out that the whole world split into two twins: Ljosgard, the world they knew, where the evil sorcerers where destroyed and the bad sorcerers fell into disgrace and then Myrkgard, where the evil sorcerers won and changed most of the world to their liking... (No, there was no "good" side in that war.)
