My job was winding down for Christmas so I finally had time to build more toys. I actually printed and cut the Interceptor when it first came out but, for some reason, was initially intimidated by the build. I think the odd geometric shapes threw me off so I set it aside for a loooong time. I picked it up off the pile last week and gave it a go and voila! That was quite easy, I was very surprised. My only issue, and I'm not sure where I got off track, was a little inner bowing across the back vents;



I started my winter break for reals today so I finally have time to play with my toys. Thanks for the great design.

Yeah, the shapes are a bit weird. I had it in my head back then that I wanted to do some sort of futuristic neo-noir Mayhem thing with a SF take on the hardboiled gumshoes and trouble-walking-in-on-stiletto-heels genre, so I was going for a shape that was sort of a cross between an old-fashioned roadster (from the side, anyway) and the spinner from Blade Runner. I was actually worried for a bit that the thing wasn't gonna unfold nicely or build up well in paper because of the funky front pods, but I surprised myself.

Looks great to me. I wish I had the time and space to check up with the models that I have to build.

OK, now I can't wait to start on mine (it's not even printed yet). My HP laserjet 3500 has graytone setting I've been wanting to try - for the Maiden (among others things), but will try it on the Interceptor first after I've build the first.

Halway through the Onager from the Resistance set (2 halves of body done, working on undercarriage and treads). Working out larger than I imagined. Picked it up during the Christmas sale. Thankyou, Chris, for bringing this and the others back into the limelight.

Haven't picked up the LEV or Dropship yet, but if my sense of proportion is any good at all, compared to the Onager these are gonna be a really good size!

The Onagers are easy, the LEV less so. Not that the LEV is complicated, there's just a great deal of detail involved, and don't skimp on the details! All those little moving parts and accessories and fiddly bits are what make this a really great model.

Real nice.

I need to get my printer accuracy sorted out so I can start building some of these.
