This was out of the blue, we were in our FLGS and I was checking out Malifaux figures when I noticed the TerraClips in a nook down below! Finally had some cash on me, so...

I bought a box of clips and the mansion set. I forgot why I needed to pick up the clip set until I unboxed everything at home, that wasn't a great feeling not having any clips in the box, but c'est la vie.

My big complaint, the deck/rail seems like a waste. I ran short on wooden walls on a small structure 10x10 squares, 2 stories (ok, it wasn't teeny tiny), but had to finish it off with stone walls. I would've much rather seen the deck/rail set done separately and gotten more wood walls in the core set. I probably won't buy another core set because I don't want to get saddled with more deck/rail pieces...

Not a complaint, just a 'meh' the roofs are difficult to work with. I'll probably spend a little time reading more threads on builds over the next couple of days.

Glad to hear that you picked up a set. I find your comment about rails and balconies interesting because I seem to run into the reverse problem. I use them all the time.

Also, over the time I have used my various sets I have noticed that I always seem to run out of something slightly different than the previous build. I do try for variety though and will likely pick up another of each at some point.

Is there plans to release certain sheets in small batches yet?

I haven't heard anything about it, but that is always something that Denny and Co. could have planned for the future.

Heh, point of amusement - today's game ended on a cliffhanger, and I left the Streets and Buildings sets with Molly, our combat wombat, with the instruction: 'Build a livery stable and the inn across the street'. Giving her full freedom to build a setting that she can enjoy the combat in.

Her reaction? 'Ew! Artsy craftsy stuff!'

You guys just need to buy another set. I couldn't imagine how confining just one set of any of them would be. Maybe that is why I don't mind building my own stuff. I can just print off more of whatever pieces I need. Then, because one page always has more than what I actually need, I find myself with extra pieces. Next build, I now have the pieces I want, which are different than what I wanted last build. All is good, eventually. Go buy more sets. All your problems will be fixed. lol

It's an accurate solution, though not necessarily within the means of everyone. Let's be fair, 42-50 dollars a box (depending on location and retailer) can be a fair amount of one's disposable income.

Yeah, but if you have lots of money, just always make sure you have one more package than you think you need. That way, you will always have just enough. And when you open the last shrink wrapped box of streets, buy another one right away.

I can imagine having twenty boxes so I could build my six by six table five and six layers high. Course I don't have that much money, and my wife would not only divorce me, but she would kill me first, then divorce me.

Just having the TLX stuff is problematic as it is. Sure she does not know exactly how many sets I have, she just knows I have too many. Of course having other manufacturers stuff don't help that situation at all either.

But I personally NEED more than I can buy, lol. I could have ten boxes and still want more, I think.

With all the talk lately about kickstarter projects, I'm thinking of using kickstarter to fund the "Help me afford lots of Terraclips stuff" project. The lower donations will get a "thank you" email, hand-typed by me (or my kids, if I can pawn the task off onto them). The higher donations will get you pictures of me having a great time with all the stuff I bought with the donations. If I totally exceed the target funding, I'll use the extra money to buy a better camera with which to take the photos of me having a great time.

Oh, I may have to steal this idea...

I should just do a kickstarter among my friends.

"With a minimum donation you will receive a signed picture of me holding the box(es). The next price range allows you to come and see the built map. Higher yet will allow you to play on the map and the VIP will allow you to build and play on it."

Sounds good in theory...

And I'll tell you right now, financially, it's better to have a wife who will kill you if you go all out than one who says "that's not much, maybe you should get another set of buildings and clips."

My current group was formed with the idea of chipping in extra in mind. We always through in for pizza or something and often they will give extra in hopes of getting something else cool for the table. They leave the decision of exactly what up to me.

One of my co-gamers (actually, the main DM) had said to me when we first saw the the boxes in the store if it was a worthwhile investment we could split the cost between the four of us and I agreed. Still, I went out and bought it all happily. The DM and another player have bought pretty much all of the Pathfinder Books while the 4th main player is my son's godfather and is pretty good to me in the donation of miniatures. Plus, again, my wife thinks it looks cool as well. Heck, I bought these "art" containers at a craft store to put each set in (with the box lid for nice organization), and when I said three dungeon sets were the next release, she went out and bought three more boxes. "You may as well have the storage for when they come out." Aye, she's a keeper.

Having a gamer-friendly wife is a must. Having a gamer wife is a godsend.
