i! I'm new here. I quit papercrafting cold turkey almost twenty years ago,* until seeing WWG's kits pulled me back in.

Unfortunately, my family's HP Deskjet f2200 all-in-one printer has proven woefully inadequate to the task. Not only are 6" tiles short 1/16" vertically, with some visible horizontal striations, it guzzles its tri-color ink cartridges like there's no tomorrow. An initial print run of 32 sheets (on the "normal" setting) used up a new tri-color cartridge and half a black cartridge. Even with lower-cost refurbished cartridges, that's a very high cost per page.

So I'm looking for a printer printer, but have no experience in the area, and most of the threads here mention older models that I can't find for sale currently.

I'm looking for the following traits:

1. Price under 200 USD, preferably under 150.
2. Inkjet. I don't want to mess with laser printers.
3. Accurate printing, obviously.
4. Able to hand up to 110 lb. cardstock. I don't know enough about paper types to interpret the specifications when cardstock is neverspecifically mentioned. Or what it means if one printer can handle "ULTRA Premium Presentation Matte" while another can only handle up to "Premium Presentation Matte."
5. Just a printer, not an all-in-one. No extra functions like scanning or faxing needed. My family's all-in-one does that just fine.
6. No need for wireless networking, high ppm count, or other such bells and whistles.
7. Separate ink cartridges for each color (ideally with a 6-color setup) so that I only need to replace individual cartridges when they run dry.

8. I've looked at some of the material on CIS systems, and want to upgrade to one at some point in the future. I've seen a lot of talk about having to painstakingly fiddle with tubes and syringes and such. But I successfully performed peritoneal dialysis on myself for 2 1/2 years with no infections, so I don't think a printer add-on will give me any trouble.
9. My understanding is that some printers have cartridges that do not move with the printer head, and so are much easier to set up with a CIS system. So that would be welcome as well.

The Epson Artisan 50 looks like it meets my needs nicely, but as noted in (4) I can't tell from the specifications what weight of cardstock it can handle.

Anyone with experience with this is similar models that can give me some advice?

An Epson WP-4020 will meet all of those criteria of yours. It's what I replaced my HP 842C with, when it finally died. Plus it is big enough to rest my Silhouette cutter on top, so I can print then cut in my limited office space.

Color/Quality looks good - I've done more non WWG with it so far, Mean Streets and model ships and Ebbles Minis.

Capacity - it comes with BIG carts, so it runs a long time on them (I haven't run out of the starter half-full cart yet).

I use generic 110 lb and 67 lb paper.
