This seems like a scary thought for some reason...

Hasbro has now disavowed there being an offer on the table.

I don't know whether to be relieved or dismayed. I do not like what Hasbro has done with/to WotC, but have no idea whether the Mouse would have done any better.

Or maybe just spun them off to seek their own fortune. (Not likely - neither Hasbro nor Disney ever lets anything go - Disney goes to great lengths to hold on to things forever.

Heck, Disney is a dragon, at its heart....

Just like Lucasfilms, if this ever happened, I would be cautiously optimistic.

I would say that Disney, as a multimedia corporation, would better understand the needs of WotC (at least, the roleplaying and novels side of it) than Hasbro does, so I would expect an improvement in those areas if the merger were true. On another note, that would also mean a decent Dungeons and Dragons movie, and likely some cross-polination into some of their pop-culture shows (great way to bring in a new crowd for gaming).
