I wanted to do extensive testing before posting this. My wife received a Xyron 9" Creative Station for her birthday a few months ago. I can say, for certain, that it cuts down on time tremendousley. I have the sticker cartridge in it which let's me quickly stick tiles to foam. Also anything that I would normally glue then fold in half is as simple as cutting, running it through the machine (hand crank), and folding it. This method mixed with Silhouette will have you building in at least half the time.

Can you elaborate a bit more? I looked at it online, but it's not clear how you'd use it for sandwich folds. If you're doing a 6" wall piece, for example, do you have to affix that wall, printed side down, to some sort of carrier sheet or something before running it through that thing?

You see how there are two rolls? You get the paper started (no mat needed) then once it's wedged in you crank the handle and your piece comes out sticky on bottom. Then you just fold it and carry on. For tabbed items I recommend gluing the tabs. It will unstick with enough use, but sandwhich folds should have little to no problem over time.

Huh. That seems surprisingly simple and straightforward. And it doesn't put too much adhesive on to cause warping?

What are you referring to as "tabbed items?" Like the tabs on the ends of walls that will slide into posts? Or something else?

That link of yours says it's a "5 inch" refill. Does that mean the maximum width of the stuff you feed through it is 5 inches? So, it wouldn't work for large tiles wrappers?

I see less issues with warping that some papercraft recommended glues that I've used.

By tabbed I mean pieces like posts that have a little tab that you glue to the opposite side to hold it together. The adhesive can handle pressure pushing on it, but it does come apart if pulled. With that in mind I have a few post that I've not used glue on and they are fine as long as I don't get rough with it, but I can tell it will not get many uses before separating. Luckily it will go back with a thin run of Aleene's.

Do you know if the adhesive cartridges last a long time?

Mine is 18 feet and I'm learning where it cuts and how close I can put pieces together. It seems like it lasts good while, but I have no concrete numbers. Our local Michael's craft store has them on clearance right now so it may be a good time to pick one up if you have the store nearby. Good luck!
