Yep things are ominously quiet. According to the stats, Denny was last here on 6/23/2013. That's a long time to be absent from something you care about. I hope to see him back on soon, and I hope the video game designing is going well. We all miss him, Matt, and Chris.

With my new job, I only play a couple of video games now (Minecraft and Fallout), and those in very, very, very limited time spaces, so I wont be picking up the new game, much less buying the ocular device to get the most out of it. It does sound very cool though and I really hope enough people "buy in" to make it a success.

I try to spend most of my game/hobby time building paper terrain or painting and playing with miniatures. That way I can spend more quality time with my Godson and nephew, as they are old enough now to really have fun helping build or paint stuff and then play with it. That's one of the things I used WWG stuff for in the past. They thought it was cool and couldn't wait to see what was next. The last two falls were cool as well because of the Tcp sets that came out. Unfortunately the possibility of new sets coming out with any regularity doesn't look very promising.

So with a heavy heart I say, "Everyone raise a glass to the Worldworks that once was, and hopefully, maybe, possibly may be again, someday..."

I can totally understand having to put something like this on the back burner in favor of other work opportunities. As much as folks like to say, "Find something you love to do and you'll never WORK another day," I find it's just as often the case where trying to make something you love into your career either doesn't pay the bills (especially if you have a family) or turns what you love into something MUCH less enjoyable.

I've done computer work for 15+ years now, but I've made a few attempts to teach ballroom dance full time. (it was my dream) And every time, it's either turned out that it's a struggle to even pay rent or I have to focus too much on how to "sell" lessons or "sell" the idea of competition to students. And that sucks all the joy out of something I love. My take now is that "you need something that drives you in life and something that lets you drive."

Part of the challenge of making something like paper terrain into a worthwhile time investment for the creators here is that there is so much involved in doing it and it takes so much time. Perhaps one solution to that is to open the work up to more developers/creators, rather than try to do it all among a few. 5 releases in a year done by a group of 3 or so is a lot of work. 5 releases in a year done by 5 or 6 might be a lot easier. Just a suggestion.

Agreed, Ninevah. But then it comes down to the inevitable dilution of the income.

It's better to dilute any amount of income than it is to have sole control of nothing.

The catalog has more than a few items in it. The labor is finished there. If no new items are ever created, then the income stream will dwindle, but new people stumble onto the site and see the same stuff that captivated you. New people will buy the same stuff the rest of us bought. Granted, we will buy less and less stuff, and finally nothing if nothing else is created, but new people will need to get their fill. And I can see the day when the modern stuff grabs me, or the Sci-fi stuff makes me buy them. But yeah, it will dwindle with no new stuff. The stream of money from new enterprises is what will keep them in a house and take care of the food and clothing and everything else they meed. Yeah, I want more, but I hardly think my wants and desires figure too heavily into their plans for their families, and that is how it should be. I am happy to have stumbled onto this site and pick up all the awesome sets I did.

Apologies for the silence gang. It has been an absolutely crazy few months with The Gallery: Six Elements.

The short version is that we have WWG's best interests at heart and we are looking at a variety of options to keep new content coming in and the community intact.

I completely understand your frustrations but I can only beg for patience here during this time of transition. You all know what this community means to me (to us) and we've worked hard to make this place what it is today. This isn't about running away and turning our backs on anything, its about evolution, growth and necessity.

I promise to let you know how things are shaping up as soon as I have a better handle on next steps.

DENNY!!! Glad to hear from you bro! I'm also glad to hear that things are going well, and can't wait to see what you have in mind for WWG. At the risk of sounding optimistic, I'll use our favorite word around here for years: "soon".

I would think that I have a pretty large collection of some 30 WWG sets there are many sets I would like to still have in my collection, there is 84 sets so I not even half way there,

Are there people out there that have all 104 of WWG products and are waiting for another release ?

so if the crew took several years off in Bali i still would be buying product and building sets, till that started cranking out some thing new .

It's not so much that people want just another release as people want specific sets done.

Nevermind that not everyone is interested in EVERY kit. I only play 40k and malifaux. I have very little use for alot of the fantasy sets...

Following a new post in a new thread I again find myself back here. Nothing has changed in this short time, but I have discovered a new bit of knowledge a couple of days ago and guess I will share it with all of you.

When I went back to the catalog I had to look at all those sets in it and found that Matt's finger prints were on every set but four on that first page. That is twelve sets out of the sixteen. Almost everything done in the past two years has had Matt's fingerprints on it, if not the sole creator, than as a contributing artist. Except those four. We all owe a bunch to him, and I for one would like to call him out for all he has done for us. Matt is the man, quietly trudging along, making magic as he goes. Not complaining any, just got educated a bit and wanted to share.

I wonder what Paul is doing now days. He is a great designer. I wish he was available and willing to come back to WWG. I so wished he could have finished Titan.

Paul changed jobs, and he had said his new work situation was not conducive to continuing to create for WWG. Which is very sad for us.

I have been considering just making the sets I've wished for myself. At this stage of my life 'waiting' isn't the best option.
