I'll be honest, price for me is always the first consideration.

I know that I'm going to get quality from WorldWorks, as a matter of fact I've come to expect it. That is why I love the sets. However, if the sets were not as competitively priced as they are I would skip them.

My gaming dollars are finite and even though my gaming budget has increased many times over from my younger days I still prioritize every purchase.

I guess I'm just a tightwad when it comes to gaming. I'll go to my FLGS and look at stuff several times before I spend money on it, and if I can find the same thing cheaper on Amazon I usually buy it there.

I probably would not spend over 20 dollars for a set no matter what the quality. I would be tempted by quantity but even then I guess that my threshold for cardstock is $20. Anything over that "feels" overpriced. Maybe I'm not the usual buyer but that is just me.

For what it's worth, I voted Quality, but "Ease of Construction" would have been my second choice if I had two votes to cast.

Mind you, Quality + Ease of Construction for me does *not* equal boxy models with even more beautiful textures! Personally, I feel the graphical quality of WWG products is outstanding, but a little more brainpower could be put into making beautiful shapes that are still a snap to assemble.

Curvy models are a good example: It takes a LOT of planning and experimenting to get something that both looks good and is easy to construct (as Aleph noticed with his hedgemaze arch, and I'm facing with my Mainde's bottom kitbash).

Grab a 1-2" long cylindrical piece of balloon (or a piece of - ahem - textured translucent rubbery material which conveniently comes in tubular shapes of about the right width. *). Now, make two *sturdy* square cradstock frames (may want to use matboard for this, or reinforce with popsicle sticks), with a circle cut out of the middle. These will be the "doorframe" for the sphincter. Now insert one of these frames squarely into one end of the tubular piece of rubber, then thread the rest of the tube through the center of both frames, and loop it over the second frame. You should now have a short cylindrical rubber tunnel, framed by two square pieces. loop a string around the middle of the tunnel. Now pull on the string from opposite end, and the rubber sphincter should close. You can install the two frames a little distance from each other so you keep a bit of a tunnel effect, or you can sandwich them together (make sure the string can still move freely though) for a more compact sphincter "door". Paint according to your own inspiration. (May need to experiment a bit to get a paint which sticks yet is elastic enough to move with the rubber.)

To paraphrase a famous computer guru: Caution - I have merely proven that this works, I haven't actually tried it yet!


* Just occurs to me that you could use the same type of material to coat the inside corridors with. Get the fancy ribbed kind, non-lubricated.
