Once again TAG, I am struck with the thought that I would love to see your builds. This time, however, it also occurs to me that I think we have a digital camera that we don't use anymore (my wife got a spiffy new one from work on "permanent" loan from one of her vendors who makes said cameras).

Assuming you're interested, I'll look around and see if I have all the accoutrements for it.

Whoof, way too many things going on this week to do anything, but the good news is that I kept wanting to!

(Much better than sitting down with your modelling supplies, and realizing that you just do not feel like modelling today.

I still need to get a cartridge, and now I want to rebuild the roundhouse - the new roof design will not fit on the older building without cutting the points off of the peaks. Rather than tying to cut parts on an already built model I am starting it over, and will likely give the older one away. Ironically, aside from needing to rebuild the roundhouse, the new roof design is easier to build! (Getting the eight gables to meet in the center was a pain in the butt, and was more than half the time spent building the original.) The new one has a flat area with eight spokes, figures can be put on it, as can a CWU tower and a crane turned upside down and suspended by a paper fastener from the inside of the roof. My enthusiasm is back!

I have also started paintin' a bunch of WARMACHINE figures - it is easier to bring along a figure, the tools to prep it, and the colors I need when I go to my girlfriend's soon to be ex-home than to carry what I need for cardstock modelling - space is at a premium. (She lives in a clamming shack right now, not a good place to spend winter, but lovely in summer.)

And now that the moving is squared away I ran out and bought the printer cartridge, after only three weeks of whining about it!

So I am going to be rebuilding the damaged sections of the arena first, then starting on the redesigned 'jack roundhouse.

Hopefully by the time I get a camera I will have some builds worth photographing again! I realize in retrospect that I was suffering from some pretty severe depression in the time leading up to and following my own move, otherwise I would have taken a lot more care to prevent damage. (I had to move after some idiot backed a van into the support pillars for the back half of my old apartment... the pillars were two foot thick brick - with reflectors! I do not see how anybody could have not noticed them.) Gods, I hate moving!

*EDIT* And now I try to sleep while ignoring the cheerful sounds of a chugging printer... at the end of every page the printer goes something like *kerfwhap!* as the cardstock leaves the mechanism.

Between going camping tomorrow, and an insane work schedule (48 hours listed for next week, with some commisioned miniature painting on the side, as well as a good deal of writing) I do not know how much modelling I will be able to do for a few weeks, though I may use some of the simpler builds to 'wind down' before bed.

The Auld Grump, a bad case of the tempus fidgits... which are at least better than the tempus fuggits.

And had my first experience with a good digital camera (not for modelling, just using the camera for some of my fellow campers). Much easier to use than I had thought, very quick, very quiet. The one I used had a seperate battery pack for the flash, even though the fash was a permanent fixture on the camera. Having the little tv screen rather than a view finder was odd, but appealing.

I will have to give it a little more thought... it just was not as fearsome as I had, well, feared some.

Actually easier to use than the cheaper ones I had tried earlier.
