I put a little note up about this on the front page but I thought I would expand upon it here. I just want to offer everyone a general apology for the bumpy road we’ve been on since launching the new site & store on the 19th. While I did expect Murphy’s Law to kick in full force there were some unforeseen difficulties in the beginning. DNS settings for example, put us down for the count early this morning as we received some conflicting information from our host (Sorry about that gang).

Payment Processors:

While Paypal is for many an adequate solution for checkout and payment, for others it’s like the black plague. Fully realizing that not everyone is happy with Paypal I will be installing support for 2-Checkout as a secondary payment processing option for users. Hopefully the combination of the two payment processors will offer more stability and assurance to users of the WorldWorks store. I’ll be working to implement 2-Checkout over the weekend and I will make a general announcement when it becomes available.

Store Layout:

Some of you may or may not have noticed a few minor changes in the store layout.

- I’ve removed the “new releases for” section from the bottom of the front page to increase the page-load speed. This should be welcome news to dial-up users.
- Thanks to some very helpful advice from Robby (our resident forum tech) I was able to properly incorporate the “Add to cart” button at the top of product pages right below the price (that nifty little table below “Purchase Options”). HUGE thanks to Robby for the help on that little nagging issue.

Specials:

There are more planned specials and combo deals coming but if you have a specific want or need please let us know. While I can’t guarantee that all suggestions will come to pass I would like to know where everyone’s heads are at in this regard.

General Improvements:

Putting aside for a moment our early bumps in the road, we would like to hear from you in terms of what general improvements you would like to see on the site. We realize that not everything is "perfect" and your opinions really count in this regard. Again, we will do our best to implement changes if they are constructive and helpful to both users and WorldWorks alike. If we have the time and or resources to make a feature happen then we will do everything in our power to get it going.

Thank you all for your incredible patience and support while we sort through some growing pains. This evolution in WorldWorks brief 3+ year history is all leading up to some incredible things! Cant’ wait to share the future with all of you!

Firstly I want to say how happy I am to see the site back up and running. I downloaded the patch as soon as I received the email, but by the time I got to work today the site was unavailable. I was hoping it was something simple like exceeding your bandwidth and it'd be sorted soon, but as time went on I was getting really worried that you had been hacked. Anyway, I just wanted to say it's good to see you up and running again and in one piece.

You have handled things remarkably well. It's easy to forget that you are not a large team of developers with the way you handle problems. I am thoroughly impressed, and if I hadn't already been a raving fan, I am now

The changes to the home page much such a big difference. Thank you for removing the animated graphic product list.

So far, I can't think of anything to change on the site that hasn't already been mentioned, except perhaps linking the news and updates articles to a forum post where you are not limited by space as much.

Other than that, keep up the great work.

I was also worried when the page didn't show...I think that after all that time earing the "Imninent coming of the store" was like the wolf and the child tale...but finaly the wolf came and is working quite Ok...Specials: yes...but maybe (for the ones like me who miss only a few of your releases) is better something in the spirit "buy two of that ones for only X", The Interior combo was an easy one to make (and one that was left to me) but I don't see right now any combo as easy as that...And the ones I miss and want are village ans Arena (not a clear mix) so maybe if you put a few sets of the old in 3x2 or a discount (but if you can choose) will be easy to get an offer...

Well whatever you made will be well made (except put an offer the day after I buy a set without it )

I don't know if the store can handle it or not, but what about doing specials like:

Buy any two sets, save 10% off both.

Buy any three sets, save 15% of all of them.

Something like that? I will pick up Gothic Realms soon as everyone keeps telling me how good the sewers are... and I'll pick up the Mars set... but the fantasy stuff isn't useful to me these days since I'm not playing anything to use it.

I might be tempted if you did a combo deal with the FirstLight sets... but don't have any immediate plans to get them... partially because it looks like transparancies are used a lot.

FL only uses the transparencies if you want, not a real big thing either way, just a touch you might not even want.

Any clear plastic will work instead and there is even a suggestion in the instructions for an alternate. The FL and FL:R sets are really great.

Get them, they are that good.

You could throw one or the other in (buyer's choice) with a purchase, if you are really opposed to selling them again. But I think you should put them back up and sell them, maybe at a reduced price.

Yeeessss...made it a combo with the old sets...something like "taking out the dust only for a few days...." I have wan to have them...you know..some like old buildings of the castle or ruins or the firsts dungeon made......so pls...make it...I'm in for a combo...-Take the stock that didn't sold and make a bargain...is your chance

Wow, I come back from being on vacation for a week and what do I see, a new site. Got to say, I'm glad I missed all of the bumps, had some problems with my web site right before I went on vacation because my hosting company decided to change data centers and when they configured the servers, well, they didn't do it correctly.

But it's good to see that things are running smoother. So far, and I know I've only scratched the surface, I like the new look and functions! Glad to see that things are going good for you and company, Denny!
